I always dig looking at more pictures of this rig. And, holy cow batman, Nate's LC looks HUGE, especially with those tires? What are they? 37? Bigger? I think if I came into a good amount of disposable income, I wouldn't waste it on a fancy sports car or luxury automobile, but I would be happy to buy one of those era Land Cruisers to build out. That thing looks like it has plenty of room inside to camp and forgo needing a RTT.

That's actually not Nate's, his is the stock one in these photos. That other LC had 40s! They were huge and I loved them.. he did some crazy things with them. Also yep, I really like LCs, and building one would be fun. They are huge inside, and that LC had a pretty sweet camp setup in the back.

Ahh, right on. I only know Nate switched camp from 3rd gen, and eventually settled in a LC. So I am not familiar with his current rig. Does he ever miss his 3rd gen? Many of my purchases are in the spirit of his old rig. But those 40's on the other LC are crazy big!

Speaking of crazy big, how are your 35's treating you? Do they still rub much? Still liking the STT Pros? Would you buy them again?

Still liking them. I'm probably needing new tires in the next 6-12 months, but I'm not sure what to go with. I just did a quick search and found out the STT Pros have dropped in price by a fair amount, making me more likely to stick with them. I'm at about 25k on them, and they definitely have more left, but I don't like my tires getting bald. I got rid of my Duratracs at 30k.

With my Duratracs I took them off slightly early with some tread still left and then sold them on Craigslist, really helping to offset the new tires. I'm probably going to do that again, as the math works out to that being the better deal- and me having new tires sooner haha.

A few months ago I spent a few hours dialing in my alignment (my buddy is the alignment tech, which helps), and there is actually zero rubbing now that the lowers are pushed all the way forward. The only place I rub is on the frame, which I can't really fix..

I think so, yes. I just don't want to run a spacer anymore, so I deal with it.. it's not too bad.

17s wouldn't be so bad, and I've been eyeing new wheels for a bit, I just can't afford them haha. One day! A whole new world of tires opens up for 17s.

Knocked out some good maintenance this past weekend.

I've had an oil leak for the past few months and have neglected it, but it seemed to get worse recently and it was time to fix it. It was very tough to pinpoint, as there was oil everywhere on the front, and could have been from the oil pan, crank seal, dipstick seal, etc..

The crank seal seemed like the best best, so I went ahead and replaced it. The process was relatively straight forward, and I only struggled with getting the crank pulley off- it was on there! This was also my first time getting in with the timing belt and it wasn't hard at all.

Got an ExtremeLED 38" amber/white combo bar for my birthday... and I love it! It fits perfectly in the rack and looks awesome.

It's super bright- just the ambers are brighter than my headlights, and the white is like daytime. Excited to actually use it at night sometime!

A few updates before some Moab pictures!

Sorry for slacking on the build thread, but not a whole lot of exciting has happened.

My alternator died (or rather, was starting to not charge every once in a while) so I replaced it with an OEM reman and everything is good so far!

I painted my grill black, as it was the last piece of chrome remaining (besides the headlights). I like it much better than the chrome, and I'm glad I finally convinced myself to do it. Not the greatest picture, but you get the idea. The Moab pictures will show it better.

I also changed my locker switch to be lighted. I wasn't always sure if it was locked (especially if I missed the click noise), so having this is nice. When it's locked, it lights up like this:

I totally agree. I was on my way back from snowboarding and my wipers kept getting slower and slower, and then the light came on. It went away the next day and charged the battery back up, but I didn't want to push my luck driving 1200 miles the next week.

Spent another spring break in Moab with [MENTION=78892]Fishwerks[/MENTION], [MENTION=82211]TCMach[/MENTION], [MENTION=94888]EatonKyleH[/MENTION], and [MENTION=122219]Twenman4[/MENTION]!
Finally had [MENTION=88391]NateMob[/MENTION] show up this year, and we also met up with [MENTION=121903]Black798[/MENTION] and@%1; for some trail runs.
As always it was a good time!
