Desert Dune hood/roof touch up painting

I read someone posting a few days ago about wanting to paint a sport hood desert dune to match his rig, but 12+ years of fading was going to be tough to match w/o blending the paint on the fenders. I have a silver sport hood that I was going to have painted at a maaco or similar place, but don't want to spend extra on blending with the fenders especially because the rest of my 4runner has a lot of desert pin striping. Any one have an idea on contrasting colors that might look good, the reason I ask is the paint on the roof is in really bad shape from being an original Arizona car. Wondering about doing a satin black hood and roof, but that might look strange.
Of course I could just roll the hood and roof with bedliner but that might look worse.:wow2:

4ever4running has a white one and bedlined his sport hood and rockers/fenders. looks pretty good to me. not the usual bedline the crap out of it job. i think he said the product was durabak.

I'd try that chalkboard paint. If it's already a little battle scarred up you can play with the chalkboard hood.

Chalk board paint? Hmmm well my daughter is only 10 weeks old so I should have some time before she feels compelled to "tag" my 4runner with chalk.:banana:

Black would absorb heat

like no other. You could always install the hood and paint the hood, fenders or entire truck later.
