Did 03-09 4Runner Front Brake Hubs Come with a Dust Cap?

Hi guys,

I'm in the market for aftermarket wheels and I notice that a lot of them come with tall bulky centercaps that stick out way too far for my tastes.

I notice that some 4Runners with aftermarket wheels use very shallow caps. I inquired to one owner with this set-up, and he said they are just dust caps that go over the hub. In other words, they aren't wheel centercaps, they just look like it. Here is a pic of his car (t-rex grrr, I hope you don't mind me using a pic of your awesome car

I know my 2006 4Runner does not have dust caps on the front hubs and I wonder if this was OEM on our cars or if certain models had them (i.e. 4wd only)? Maybe the previous owner removed them?

So, if you bought your 03-09 new, did it come with dust caps over the front brake hubs? I believe the part number is: 43514-28010

I know some people have used these caps on the rear too:

My 07 4x4 has the dust caps on the bearing hub/wheel flange.

I'm going to see what my wheels look like with the centercaps removed since they are kind of big and ugly. This is a great idea.

I am planning on running them front and rear to match.

And yes, I've been in the 4Runner world for just a year. But the one thing that jumped out at me right away is why in the world all the aftermarket wheel centercaps are so hideous and tall. They look like they belong on a bus or an 18-wheeler... certainly no place on a sleek 4Runner. Just my 2 cents.

My bet is that the 2wd didn't come with dust caps, because there's nothing to keep dust out of.

You are probably right. My guess is they will still fit however since the hub diameter is the same. Hopefully the inside diameter of the hub is the same too as that's what matters...

If anyone has a pair or a set of 4, please PM me and I'm glad to buy them off you.

If anyone would conclusively confirm whether 4wd dust caps fit 2wd, that would be awesome
