Difference Between Magnaflow's?

I'm interested in getting a new muffler for my 4Runner. (1999 Ltd)
I have been checking out the Magnaflow 14" Muffler. Part #11225
Magnaflow 11225_Satin Stainless Muffler - Hottexhaust
Also been looking at the Magnaflow 18" Muffler. Part #14255
Magnaflow 14255_Polished Stainless Muffler - Hottexhaust

I'm sure they are both good quality mufflers, but what is the difference between the two? Do they both have the same sound? Same performance? The 18" is more expensive then the 14" so there HAS to be something different between the two other then the length size...

The 14" will be louder. The longer the muffler, the more time the exhaust passes through, which dampens the sounds. Youtube both of them and can get an idea of the sound produced. I've seen guys go with both. I plan on going with the 18". They're on Amazon for $45-65.

Thanks for the help! Can you give me a link, cause i can't find them for $45-64 on Amazon. haha

But what is the difference between the part number? Like there are many 18" mufflers but they all have different part numbers. Not sure if I'm stupid and not getting it or what.

Not a lot from what I can tell. The more expensive look shinier, maybe out of polished steel. I'll be going for the cheaper, satin steel...same difference for me.

I'm going with a Thrush glasspack possibly in the spring. My old muffler won't last much longer, so might as well get a new one before I lose the tail end of my pipe going down the road. $20 for an American made Thrush glasspack, weld 'er on with a little down pipe on it and I'm all set. Should I go with the red paint or stainless?

Would you know how loud Magnaflow 13216 XL Turbo Satin Stainless Steel 2.5" Oval Muffler would be? I know its louder since its 14 inch but is it too loud?
