Differences between UCA's

I dropped my truck off at Camburg today to get a set of UCA's installed. They called me back after 2 hours or so, to tell me that they couldn't fit them on. All other companies such as Total Chaos, Icon, etc, list their UCA's as 03-08, yet there seems to be a difference between the UCA's on my 07 and the UCA's from an earlier 4th gen. What did they do to these in 06 that was different from the 03-05 models? And why don't these companies know about it?

Bad news, they did not fit so they have to order the new 1.25" Uni-Balls which won't be here until Monday, so it was a total waste of time.

Good news, I now get the new 1.25" Uni-Balls marketed at $699 for $400 since it was their fault for not knowing this.

That's interesting, Josh. Did they describe what the fittment problem was? Glad it worked out for you.

I wonder if the NEW ones will not fit older models? When was the change made?

I think the only way to find out is to gain access to the service manuals. Usually there is a section outlining model year changes.

There shouldnt have been any change as I archive all the 4R model year changes on my site and the info is from the OEM Manuals like you describe and there is no mention of those parts.

Additionally I took a look at the parts sheets and there is just one part number for 2003-2006 and that is the same for 2WD and 4WD. I dont have the sheets for 2007-2009 but since 2006 is there their shouldnt have been any further changes after the mid year freshening.

They called Toyota and there are 2 different part numbers for my 07 compared to an earlier 4th gen apparently.
