Difficulty unlocking/locking car with key fob?

My 2016 TE has difficulty unlocking and locking the doors since three days ago. It'd take me several tries from different angles in order to get it to work. The car is just about to hit 15,000 miles soon, and I'm currently on a cross-country road trip so I'd like to avoid minor inconveniences if possible.

If it is a key fob battery issue, what battery size should I get?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if your issue is a battery problem or not, but if you open your key fob you'll see the battery and there will be a model # on the battery so you know which one to replace it with. Should be a button style battery. I'd start with replacing that, as the fob is more expensive to have reprogrammed or replaced. Hope that helps some.

I just replaced mine in both of our keys. It should be the CR2032 flat battery. You pop open the key fob then take out the innards and pop that open and then you will see it.

Try replacing the battery first since yours is so new. I just had to replace the motor in my driver door actuator this weekend. Fun fact, the truck will not beep the lock confirmation beep unless each door successfully locks.

You will have to open it up and see. My 2015 just started getting weak so I popped it open. I had to take a picture to read it since the font is so small.

Rite Aid has them for $7.42 ea. Harbor Freight has a 4 pack for $3.49.

Yes! This. It will not beep. My passenger door one is going out. Have to get it taken care of. Problem is I don't really know of a good indy shop around me for Toy's. I only have Firestone and the dealer. But ye back to the key fob, it was the CR2016's. I deal with the 32's and have a box of them at work for garage door remotes.

Thank you guys for the response! I have already purchased the recommended batteries, but it seemed like the problem has "gone away" for the time being. I will definitely change the batteries and update the thread accordingly in case (touch wood) it doesn't do much for the issue. :)
