you can get a kit for 69$, how cool would it be to do the plastic interior pieces? instead of final, or the sticky carbon fiber

Not exactly that exciting. HydroDipping has been done for a while now. It's best if it's cleared after it's dipped to really make it last.

I seen something like this being demonstrated at a local gun show. Prices have really come down since then. Good to know there is a kit for $70.

It's a film that when introduced to water with the catilist, looses the film, but maintains the image.

It's pretty durable, especially if you clear it like [MENTION=96939]SweetWaterSurprise[/MENTION] said.

You can lay down a base coat under it, and it will change the color of the background, obviously.

So, he did the black arm, but if he did a white arm, it would look like a photo negative of the CF.

I've been debating on getting one of these kits, and doing something with the interrior of the truck, but haven't found a kit that I like that much yet.

Wow...I didn't know they had this as a home kit. There's a big powder coating company here in Columbus...that does this. Stacey David from Gears used them on one of his projects...or was it one of the Power Hour guys from Spike TV?? Anyway...they talked very highly of it, suppose to be pretty durable and last like a paint? However, I remember it wasn't cheap though.

Has anybody used the home kit?

Funny you posted this, as doing all my black pieces is on my list of things to do this winter, and this kit was on my radar.

I'll probably just end up asking a buddy to do it though. He has his own business.

You have to have the vinyl designed, cut, and then applied, unless you're willing to do it yourself, which, all well and good, I'll pass. Done it before, NEVER again. Massive PITA.

Try vinyl wrapping something complex, like the radio bezel. Have fun with that.

I watched some videos that showed what the product looks like and research found this method to have been around for awhile but I'm still impressed with it.

Very True, but any part of car paneling or some simpler pieces its a good path to go.

As Doc2012 said, its very tough to vinyl wrap complex stuff, not really sure if you could do a gun. I would recommend this route for sure with the dip kit or even get a company to dip it for you.
