Is your valence molded into the bumper or is it a separate piece? If it is a separate piece, you don't have to mask it in the traditional sense. You simply create a border all the way around with painters tape about 1" wider than the valence. Be sure to use plastic or some other cover outside of this border to catch any overspray. Then you just spray the valence and 1" gap with 4-6 coats. After the last coat has dried (I waited 4 hours), You can peel off the tape and the extra "overspray" in the gap will peel right off and break at the gap between the valence and the bumper.
The plasti dip comes in a matte finish. There are some other overcoats that you can use to make it look satin or glossy - but I didn't use any.

As I look at the front of my SR5, that middle bar is integrated into the whole front end and connot be removed. Is the piece that you put on a essentially a cover for the existing?

I didn't see if you posted this anywhere. How many cans of dip did it take to coat everything? I'm thinking of doing the same thing but with the Vintage Gold color on the emblems. Looks like it could match the matte bronze Konig color pretty well.
Go for the goooold! That will look awesome.
I used 2 cans of gunmetal grey to primer the white flares. 6 cans of black for 6 coats. And three cans of antharcite for the valences and emblems.
I also got the pre-dip cleaner, and the stuff you spray on to help protect it after each wash. It really does make it feel slicker and protect it. Also, get the trigger gun that snaps onto the can, i didnt think i would need it, but holy crap my finger got tired after two coats so i started using it.

Exactly. Its just a cover and small replacement grill.
