Dirty toes not dirty hose

Hi everyone. My wife drives a 2008 4Runner, and when she wears sandals when driving, which is all the time, her big toe gets black on the tip, with what looks like soot. I have plugged the vent holes under the dash, above the gas peddle, (it only happens on the right foot). I can't see any other holes where this may be coming from. She swears that she is not dragging her toes on the brake peddle. When I watch her drive I don't see anything unusual either. I can't get down there with smoke while we are driving so I am stumped. Any ideas? She is getting mad at me for not having fixed it yet.
Thanks.
Steve

Although you say she's not dragging her toe on a pedal, that's what it sounds like to me. About impossible NOT to with sandal's on, especially women's sandals! lol

Yes, I have accused her of doing that, but she swears she is not. I looked at her foot today, and her big toe had a sort of dark circular mark, that LOOKS like soot, but probably is not soot. It cleans off pretty easily. It is very strange to me, it cover about half of the toe nail, with the largest part towards the outside of her toe. Her sandals do not have a pattern that would leave any mark, just a strap.

Time to bust out the money for the CSI labs to analyze the mystery black stuff and incriminate your wife for getting brake pedal gunk on her toe. Make sure it comes out of her half. :)

Waitwaitwait, she's mad at you for not figuring out how she's getting black marks on her toe?

Solution: put on a pair of sandals. Drive the 4Runner. Show wife your sparkly clean toe and tell her to quit sticking her foot where it doesn't belong. :D

WTF does that first underlined sentence mean? Are you saying that you guys usually drive around with smoke billowing beneath the steering wheel? Don't worry, that's totally normal in the newer 4th Gens. They came with a built in smoker for long road trips so you could smoke your own meats after a hunting trip or roast some marshmallows if the kids get unruly.

Regarding the second line, tell her you're mad at her for not fixing the universal problem men have with leaving streak marks in their undies. No matter hard we wipe, our undies still look like bacon strips inside. And the dribble that comes after we take a leak.....Jesus man. I feel like I'm walking around with a wet sponge in my pants.

.........But on a more serious note, watch her get into the truck and see if her toe hits the side step as she's getting in. Those things are always dirty.

Well, considering I'm from Philadelphia I wouldn't know. But if that was the case since I live in Utah which automatically makes me Mormon, I might buy a house in Iceland because I've always wanted to be a Viking.

thank god i live in connecticut and therefore went to yale

You have to admit, it's kind of a silly question and that you were bound to get some backlash on it :hiding:

Women are perfectly capable, of at least, finding out where it's coming from. She can get right down under there too, to see where her toe is touching. When she finds it, take pics, start searching the net... join forums etc..
Women shouldn't be held on such a high standard that they feel incompetent to find solutions to things.

This is a Hilarious post. Is your wife kidding, are you kidding?? Sorry man, it's just funny. I am going to have to go ahead and agree that she is likely scraping her toe against something dirty...Maybe the pedal, maybe not. But something is lurking!

Philly is a really good place to be from. Far from..
Anyway, all in good fun. Have a great time in Utah. I like it there myself.
And...no more dirty toes. My wife did a 150 mile trip today, and her toes are clean enough to lic...errr never mind. (I am not from Los Angeles btw) :hello:
Terry, we are an old retired couple. My wife can get around pretty well, but she sure can't be getting down under the dash to try to figure those things out. Thats what she pays me for.
