Nope! Plain and simple
Hmmm ..... I've done this and nothing is happening. Hell I can completely unplug the whole thing and nothing happens. :noidea: I've got a 2004 SR5 V6. Are they different or something?

PMFG, I had the same problem when I did this mod. Before I did the mod I to completely removed this plug and noticed nothing happened, but it works when you unplug the connector above this that has three wires (black, red, and white I believe). These 3 wires run from the brake fluid reservoir connector to the skid control unit under the driver side dash behind the fuse block. I cut the red wire which is the ground (I believe would need to check schematic) and put a switch from there as I did not want to run a wire through the firewall. Here is the link to when I did mine.

i want to do this mod, but have a question... when i pull the lower part of my driver side dash panel, just behind where my center diff lock button is and behind the other 3 blank places for switches i've got two taped up factory plugs for something? it's directly behind where those factory cut out holes are for switches...? does anybody know what they are for?![]()

No switch, no option.
Not sure what those connectors are for
You want traction off when you are off road.
The center diff is pretty cool.
Basically:
When you switch into 4HI, you activate AWD with a 60/40 power split.
When you press the center diff, you create a 50/50 split.
You will still have individual tire spin, but equal power front and rear
Cool thx, So if I were to get a locker I would only be able to afford one right now. So would I be better off getting one for the front or rear first.

Damn, I didn't realize you still had individual tire spin when the center diff was locked. Now I feel kinda silly. I'm prob going to use it more often now. Lol
I recently put my ride in 4low with diff lock on and the VSC light lite up and started beeping. Is this what you guys are disabling? If so what is it actually doing by disabling the VSC? and why was it beeping?
Hey guys, I am planing of doing this mod with the switch i am showing in the picture. Its the Toyota VSC Off switch i belive. Can anyone please tell me which to prongs i splice the wire i am cutting for the VSC mod, to which prong I splice in power to light the switch, and do i need to put anything to the 4th prong? Or tell me how to figure out whic prongs to use.
Thanks all!!
The middle two prongs are for the VCS, and the first two prongs are for the lights.
You have to modify the switch internally for it to work. I am still trying to figure that out.
I believe what you guys are trying to accomplish is the VSC mod using the stock VSC switch. In order for this to work you need to do the mod then mod the switch, as the stock switch is momentary and you need a switch that will stay on or off. The mod itself is pretty simple and well covered, but here is a link to mod the switch. Hope this helps.
How to convert an OEM momentary switch - Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum
So I did the switch mod by taking the two wires out of my DAC switch. The switch will then go in and stay in, then pop out when pushed again, so i assume that is working right.
I wired it up and the VSC lights etc, come on when the switch is out, not pushed in. I swapped the two wires around and its still the same. The other issue is i can turn the switch on and off and it still doesn't turn VSC etc back on unless I turn the key off then back on.
Any suggestions?
Switch is illuminated and everything but it doesn't seem to be working any differently than a momentary switch. HELP!!!!
