Disabling DRL/Flasher Lights On 4Runner

Hello. I want to disable the DRL/flasher lights on my 2008 Toyota 4Runner 4.0L V6 4WD Limited Edition. I have done a lot of research and have a quick question regarding this thread: 2004 4Runner: DRL Disable With On/Off Capability - YotaTech Forums

If I was to just cut the D2 Pin12 = light Green/Red Stripe wire and just seal the ends, it would effectively disable the DRL lights without disabling the turn signals or causing any problems, right?

OR

Am I better off buying the non-DRL relay?

Here are some diagrams:

If this has not changed over the model years.

You can turn off the DRL like this.
With the car running set the parking brake, turn off car, turn on car and presto no more DRL.
Turn it back on the same way.

Holy Mother of Toyota, "BackOff" is correct. I'm sitting in my 4runner now and tried it, works great!! BackOff-how did you learn this trick????
