Also worth the mention that Discount Tire Direct will cover ANY tire they sell with their certificate program (I just got off the phone with them).

I always call my local shop as I prefer to do local business if I can and their price was actually cheaper to purchase/mount&balance but they CANNOT offer any road hazard protection (and it doesn't look like Tirerack gives that option either).

So I will pay a few bucks more in the end to get the tires I want from DTD with certificates and pay to have them mounted at my shop here locally. BUT I will be covered under their certificate's policies which is pretty comprehensive.

255/80, no question, but if you want 255/75 I've got a set of KMs I just took off my F150 I'd make you a deal on.

I really like my 255/75's, but I'm still at stock height. Once she's lifted and needs new tires again there's a good chance I'll go up to a 255/80 just because it's a bigger tire, unless I can get a crazy deal on 75's again like I did this time.

Fatter no gooder . I put the 255/80r17 on my F150. Still looks a tiny bit small, I think they'd be perfect on a 4Runner.



And I gotta say, I like the E load range. The KMs had a C load range, and they were squishy, you could feel the sidewall roll when you took a turn too fast. The Coopers seem to be just firm enough that they don't do that, even under a 5500 pound pickup, but forgiving enough that 45 PSI was comfortable on the TCRR yesterday. And they're definitely smoother enough on pavement, with only a little bit of freeway noise.
