Thanx for posting this, Any reccomdations on the tallest thinnest tire I could put on this bone stock, other than the running boards which I took off last week, 02 ? Plan is to get a set of black steelies and paint the flares black,

Thanx for all the shared info here, first and far from the last Runner I will own.

Tallest you can run on stock suspension is 255/75/17. I ran it on my 01 stock. Had to do very very slight trimming. Not a big deal. Most choose to run 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 though if they are stock.

Discount Tire is great and all, but the certificates are a total ripoff (just like every other extended warranty out there). That is why they push them so hard. If you actually do shred a tire, you can still bring it back and they will sell you the certificates then.

Even if you have put xx,xxx miles on them?

yup. she said its already set for 12:01am EST (EST, not PST) on the 17th, and be ready at that time because she says they run out in about 4-6 hours for 31's-35's and thats been every year she's been there,about 6 years.

E rated tire is not needed if I'm not rock creaking in the mountains or towing anything heavy right? Daily Street use and dirt/gravel for play, a C rated tire is correct?

Load Range E tires are for HD trucks and would be terrible for a 4runner. They would be massive overkill (not in a good way) even if you were towing or rock crawling. Load Range C correct, D is ok.

Now someone else will jump on and say the opposite, but their opinion is wrong

I just checked the Amazon price history on a number of BFG A/T sizes and could not find a single one that was ever tracked at that price.

Sometimes the price trackers miss quick sale items, so it's possible the price histories don't include the sale you mention, but I also can't find any references to this sale whatsoever on the net.

I'm not saying your wrong, just that so far I've been unable to find any evidence to back you up.

just grabbed 4 Duratracs in 265-75-16 for 676, and no tax charged to michigan. theres also a $40 rebate from goodyear, so thats 626. not bad
