I don't dislike my job, but if I had a choice, I would be sitting on a beach in Hawaii drinking beer and taking my 4R off road (not after drinking, of course).

I pretty much love my job. I am an implementation engineer for a data storage company. I help to implement (onsite) solutions for our many customers. Specific solutions include networked storage arrays as well as backup and recovery. The job requires a B.S. in engineering, either computer science or something closely related. Mine is in Information Systems.

It is a pretty difficult industry to break into though. I was recruited directly out of college.

My previous job was a Sonar Technician in the US Navy. While I do miss some aspects of the Navy, I do not miss serving on-ship at all. I am much happier now, taking a conf call from my kitchen while drinking fresh coffee out my French Press, than I was standing at quarters at 7am every morning before doing sweepers.

Well I guess every job will have its perks. I dont hate my job or love it. I work for a college as a college recruiter here in Arkansas. I don't really like it when I'm at the office, but I enjoy traveling to different communities to host college fairs.
 
Love and hate my job. I'm an assistant for industrial x-ray we x-ray welds for pg&e and other companies. I love it because the pay and how easy it is. 80 percent of my job is sitting in a truck or hurrying to do nothing the other 20 percent is actually shooting a weld. Only reason i hate it is every single other job I've had in my life is physical labor so if I don't go home sore and tired I don't feel I worked hard enough.oh yeah I also love it because the amount of hours we get plus weekly pay checks
 
I'm with brianemc2_42 on this one. I do IT work for the government; I get to travel all over base, talk and connect/network with people, implement solutions, find and solve problems, and I get paid fairly well for it (though I assure you that I DO indeed bust my butt).

So no, I don't dislike my job; I love it. :)

I'm shooting for this! I'm an old fart and retired and looking for a place in Hawaii. For all you youngsters, save, save, save. Life is short.

Answering the question: I love my current job of being retired.
 
right now i hate my job i sit at a desk all day bored(only good thing is im always on here) but it gets old just sitting here but as we all know its better than no job plus i will be going back to my old position in jan. where i actually work all day. but i am a nuclear shipbuilder, right now im in the model and simulation part but in jan. i will be back actually building ships.
 
CXS: I am with you on that! Wife and I are trying to save as much as we can. Our dream is to retire in Hawaii. Kauai or the Big Island would be great, though on our last trip, I have a new found respect for Oahu. Good luck with your plans

yes, maui is very nice too. kauai is my favorite. if i could live anywhere in that state, i would take it.
 
I could like my job as a cost accountant much better, I would like to be higher up the ladder with more pay.

That said, more job responsibilities with higher pay would not allow for as much time on T4R.org so in there lies the tradeoff.

Wow that sounds awesome. I can understand being bored sitting at a desk all day, but man I would be so happy to do that, plus I'm not going to even bother getting involved in any kind of trade; being a female it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I'd love to work for a place that does something awesome, like that though. Sikorsky helicopters is near me and I'm constantly applying their. Give me your desk job when you move on, please!!!!

haha they actually already hired someone to replace me! i think they are excited to see me go im about the only one here without a masters and uses normal everday language that non master degree people understand which the dont seem to like me doing haha
 
I hate my job, but love the people I work with/for. I'm a patent paralegal and sit behind a desk all day. I'm 100% grateful I have a job and can support my family, but the work is tedious and I have no interest in this field. I was working towards an elementary teaching credential when I found out about my gf was pregnant. I had to leave the job I had and start working at the law firm because it was a full time job with benefits and a higher pay scale. It was the best and only decision, but it's rough going from working with kids and being active to sittine behind a desk all day. I always told myself I would never work a desk job, but I'm putting my family first for the time being.

The only thing that gets me through the day is my co-workers. I have some of the best co-workers (except one annoying woman) and the absolutely best boss. He is the most generous and flexible boss I've encountered. He's allowed me to be at every doctors appointment for my daughter and is extremely generous will all the admin.
