disneyland : whats the cheapest route to get in?

So the wife and I will be taking our two kids to Disneyland in California within the next few months. I am wondering what the current cheapest method is to get us all in for a couple days with the hopper passes.

I know there were little shops that would like rent passes out, but then
i heard that DL now scan your fingerprint or check id.

Also heard that the local grocery stores may have them at discounted rates.

Then theres my wife employee network discount(which doesnt seem to be much of a discount).

So whos got the skinny and did their research to find the best cheapest route to take.? Or who is local and knows ?

We are planning to do two days with the fast pass/hopper pass. Will need a place to stay as well. Then we will go to the beach on the 3rd day.

Most of the side of the road deals are pretty shady. Plus consider that you have very little recourse with counterfeit tickets not bought from an authorized vendor. You may find the occasional discount but like you said, it won't be much. Even the timeshare sales pitches are usually only good for 1 day passes.

I would take the employee network discount and get legit tickets. Look to save elsewhere, like on the hotel or other expenses. Some of the attached Disney hotels actually have decent rates and will shuttle you to the park instead of driving and parking in Pluto 31.

Yeah, every person that enters scans their index and middle finger and I assume if you bought a multi-day or annual pass it would compare them. The deals at the stores probably won't be better than the discount your wife's employer gets, but it's worth checking. Even the state residence discounts were pretty weak last time we went, unless we got the full week park hopper.

Disneyland has gotten ridiculous cost wise. That goes for the prices of everything once u get inside. I highly recommend taking food n drink in a cooler(they have picnic areas)or leaving to go eat and returning. The food is way overpriced and horrible. Also be careful where u stay cause the area surrounding D-land is sketchy(lots of prostitution and tweakers). The happiest place on earth! :surfer:

It pays to know somebody that works there, but being that you live in arizona that is unlikely. I haven't paid to get into disneyland for years.

We're considering going to SeaWorld San Diego Zoo Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Studio all for the same price as going to Disneyland. Do you think my 11 year old son would enjoy that better than going to Disneyland?

Just make sure you watch the black fish documentary before going to sea world.

A lot of people like Lego Land for the kids.

I think Disneyland is really great but I highly suggest you go Tues/wed/Thurs if you can. The crowds will be far less. Also avoid the spring break 2 weeks.

Interesting. Yeah, Disney World (FL) has had the biometric screening for years. It looks like Disneyland started taking pictures for multi-day tickets too, starting last January.

Yeah, IME the best time of year to go is in October or February, and during the middle of the week.

We have season passes to Dland it's gonna be a long day ( get the app to tell you the lines times), Knott's has much more exciting rides. Sea World is interactive (don't punch the seagulls that try to steal the fish you buy to feed their fish, don't ask how I know).

cool, that app would definetly help. We're still trying to decide between disneyland and going to the 4 theme parks(knotts,seaworld,sd zoo, universal studios). I mean its not like when i was a kid and watched nothing but disney, my son hardly even knows who mickey mouse is , and Dland only has a handful of rides, mostly shows and characters that my son wont be impressed with. I think he may get more enjoyment from universal studio rides, knotts berry farm rides, and sea world and the zoo.
