DIY - fix tire rub on front mud flaps

After installing lift and putting bigger tires, I noticed tire slightly rubbing against the front mud flap (on both sides).

Place where the tire was rubbing is visible in lower left part of the photo:

I drilled a new hole for the screw (in top inner corner of the mud flap) and used that to pull the flap tight. This flattened the bottom "bulge", so no more tire rubbing...

This mod caused small new bulge in the top part of the mud flap but that doesn't seem come close to the tire...

Why not just cut off half the flap? U created a small pocket for mud to get stuck on, i try to cut my flaps half at the bottom and diagonal cut back to the screw.
