Lastly for all of you who’ve replaced your alternators already, do you have a preference? I’ve replaced a lot with OEM, but that’s a $232 alternator, and I can get on from insert automotive store for $75 ballpark. Is it worth it to go back to OEM?
I wouldn't spend that much for 70 amps. I got mine from Quality Power, 160 amps for $300.

People have had reliability problems with the GM alt & it's not plug & play.
Yeah I am not looking at going crazy with that high end alternator anymore. Is it worth it to buy another Denso, as opposed to buying one from Autozone?
However, there's a lot to be said for an OEM alternator that lasts more than 14 years like mine did. I think I replaced it in 2015. I decided to stick to OEM again in hopes for another 14plus years.Like I said, OEM for $240 is not worth it to me. For another $60 I got the 160 amp alt. My experience with auto part stores is that you end up replacing it every year or 2 so you're not saving money in the long run. Buy once cry once.

What battery you gonna run/running?Agreed, I got 16 years out of mine. I still have to install my Big 3 wire upgrade & get a winch so I have the power waiting. My headlights no longer dim when I crank my stereo. :naughty:

I'm looking at an Odyssey 35-PC1400T
$100 is hard to beat, and I need more CCA for my winch install, so I guess I'm going to HD today [emoji16]The Oddssey is nice & I wanted a Die Hard Platinum but they've been discontinued. I'm running the Exide Extreme 24FX. Its bad ass & only $100 @ Home Depot or Tractor Supply. I dare anyone to find a better specced battery for anywhere near that price.

800-cold cranking amps at 0-degree F
960-cranking amps at 32-degree F
120-minutes reserve capacity at 25-amp
40-month free warranty
So how do you think that alternator is? If you had to rate performance since you got it? I mean...I’m not gonna be getting a deal like you did...I wish. I’m thinking two batteries later on maybe, and the winch. Considering the 180 amp upgrade since my alternator I crapping out.
Picked up this battery today, it's longer than the stock group 24 battery. Is there a longer bottom tray we can source to secure the base of the battery? The Oddssey is nice & I wanted a Die Hard Platinum but they've been discontinued. I'm running the Exide Extreme 24FX. I don’t think tyc was ever an oem supplier of alternators. I’d go with a denso reman if you aren’t going to rebuild your own.Who makes a good alternator still? I’ve seen conflicting reviews about Denso. TYC still an OEM supplier?
