I have to take my throttle body off and clean it. It has almost 250K miles on it and although I have cleaned it "on the engine" I am starting to have to issues.
So, I searched YouTube and found a couple of DIY "ultrasonic cleaners". This is basically a vibratory sander strapped to a bucket of cleaner with the throttle bottle submerged inside.
So, I am going to take a 5 gallon plastic bucket with a lid (that has a gasket) and put in some cleaning solution with a low solution of either SimpleGreen or LA's Amazing Cleaner. I am going to strap a vibratory sander to it, drop in the part, and see what happens. If nothing else, it will work and I will have a clean throttle body. If it fails, I take the old toothbrush and throttle body cleaner and spend a lot of time scrubbing.
So folks; this is a loaded question; AM I NUTS? (In Alabama, we call this "innovation" something like "Redneck Rationale"
I am going to take before and after photos so the experiment will be the final judge......stay tuned!
