DIY vs spod/switchpros

Take a look at the S-Tech Systems. I did a review here that may be worth a look. Custom OEM style or Rocker Switches w/ housing, Power Module, wiring, custom engine bracket, 5 year warranty for under $400. Had mine for a few months now and couldn't be happier

I did see your review and took a look at that product. Though the relay box they are using is the exact same part i was going to use and it costs $6 on amazon. I did consider that in my diy and it would cost about half what the stech sells for if i built it myself, and i would use the aob switches that actually fit in the oem slots.
For someone without the electrical knowledge and skills it is a good economical solution but i couldnt justify the price since I can build pretty much the exact same system with better switches for much cheaper.

so while I was looking for a spod or switchpro I ended up getting a switchpro 9100 for a great deal, so that is what I will end up installing!
It just arrived and I havent installed any of the lights yet or got my roof rack in so I will wait a bit longer.

s2 sport pair rear(installed)
2 pairs of s2 flush mounts for the SSO rack(not yet installed)
rear power bank for RTT power(installed but not wired)
looking to get:
dual s8 baja designs in grill light bars
hidden winch setup

I considered this as an alternative to the expensive setups because of the price. Can't really beat it! Looks good!

I went the 6 Gang Waterwich setup from Amazon.. I paid $115 at the time.
I looked at all the options i could find, and like a few of them quite a bit, but I couldnt justify the cost (To the wife mostly). In the 1 year of ownership, I have only used my aux lights 3 times.
As I upgrade my lights, I may upgrade the switch as well.

I agree. I didnt want to go with most of those amazon setups because of the light color.
As far as use, I use the rearr lights every time I go camping and plan to use the sides often as well, which is why the bluetooth was important to me. I try to go camping every other weekend almost year round as long as there is no rain storms or snow in the forecast and temps are above freezing during the day.
Wow.... the roof/grille/ditch/fogs get used daily (I use fogs as "DRL's" also), rear lights every time I go into reverse, ground lights anytime I'm parked at night, and side scene lights at least every few days for some reason or another
As a note to add to [MENTION=276630]Anand[/MENTION] comment, the only reason I am pursuing these options is purely for the fact that the controller and lights/accessories will be used often. Not that I use them daily for normal driving, but I do try to get out and go camping every other weekend as weather permits etc.
Hence the justification for purchasing a roof rack and RTT as well. If not, I would never have added extra lights besides maybe rear lights for backing up in dark areas and the baja squadron fog replacements.
I think this thread has built up some useful information and Just want to inform people that if you are practical(like I am), then the price for these mods may not be justifiable unless you are have tons of money or will use them a lot. for 2-3 lights I would have stayed with my OEM type switch solution in the empty slots.
For me the use case and amount of usage justifies why I buy baja designs lights and try to go with quality products. I do have a mentality of "buy it nice or buy it twice", but if I don't need it I just would not buy it at all.
ie I don't need massive $1k light bars everywhere etc.

I came across the Auxbeam switch panel and was wondering if anybody used it. I have auxbeam lights and they work ok for what I need them for.

I'm a big fan of Auxbeam lights, just couldn't bring myself to gamble on this system. Ended up buying an sPod for way more money. Hoping someone has a positive experience with them though

Here's what I've been working towards for installing the Switch Pro power module in the engine bay to conform to SP's vertical mounting requirement (for warranty reasons). Take a look, seeking feedback. Availability 2-3 weeks.

Thanks i did see that in your other thread! I ended up going with the sdhq mounting plate though because i will be wiring directly and did not want to use those wiring blocks. Figured i could save some space

Just got my sPod in, can't wait to install it next week!
Just finished installing my switchpros 9100. I have to say that the quality is top notch and wiring is simple. I also used the accessories from SDHQ to make the install clean and achieve the vertical mount required.
I do not have all the lights hooked up yet since I am still waiting on my SSO rack, but I do have 2 pairs of Baja Design S2 sport flush mounts waiting to go in the rack.
for the install I used:

SDHQ cnc cut interior panel
heat shrink crimps for everything
