do all 99 limited 4wd 4runners have the tall coils?

if anybody can help...i just ordered the rear 99 tall coils online and got an email back asking me to provide vin#. i have a 97 2wd so im not going to give them my vin#. any ideas on how to get around this. im sure they are trying to verify that the springs are factory matched. somehow i need to give them a vin#. anybody without a 99 order the springs and how did you get thru it????

Im under the impression that only the first half of the 99 model year had the tall coils because of the increased media coverage on SUV rollovers during 98ish and up till now.

Actually there isn't an official number on 4Runners eqipped with the taller coils and it was on some and not on others. Most Limiteds seem to be on the standard issue coils but I almost positive most if not all Highlander/Sport models came equipped.
I bought mine supplying the vin and got the taller coils since mine came that way from the factory.

so would they not sell them if i didnt have a specific vin#. im thinking if i told them that it is an upgrade to my original setup, then they might not sell them

See if you can talk to the parts guy at the dealership and explain the situation and he may set you up since it shouldn't be a big deal.

just an fyi for anyone buying oem parts online from toyota dealers. i purchased 99 tall coils, they then asked for vin # for accuracy. i said i didn't have vin for that year but i still wanted the parts. only downfall is no returns or exchanges. i don't plan on returning anyways so that didn't bother me. unless they sent wrong part i ordered then that would be returnable i assume. but i definitely ordered the correct coils so just waiting now. $127 shipped and no tax aint bad, i just got rear coils. cant install for awhile although, sux, i broke my hand playing softball(yea i know it sounds pretty gay but it happened). so ill have to wait another month...let u guys know. later
