Do you feel your paint is extremely soft?

What I've noticed is the paint on the plastic bumper seems to chip pretty easy.

Mine Runner is silver, and when it gets a chip you can see the dark plastic underneath really easy.

Plastic/polymer Substrates

Same thing here - the plastic front bumper picks up chips - based on the post above I would guess the same paint is applied to steel and plastic but it is inherently designed for a steel substrate and hence it chips more when applied to plastic.

A different coating system is formulated and used for bumpers and other plastic surfaces. Not sure what Toyota/Lexus use in Japan but in this country they use a two-component urethane.

One of the constant challenges is matching the color of the flexible (plastic) coating to the rigid (steel) coating.
