Another vote here for cash deal. On new T4R in '08. Good deal with factory rebate and Costco car buying service. No trade-in; sold that vehicle myself on CL.

With dollar losing over 40% of it's value to the yen since then, I figure it has been one of the best automotive purchases I've ever made, especially after seeing the necessary decontenting that was done on the 5th gen.

My parents bought our first 4Runner (1990) in cash, saved up for 15 years, and bought our 2nd 4Runner (2005) in cash. We still own our first one, and it's running strong! ...Even though we don't put any miles on it (Only has 130k)

Bought mine new off the lot in March of 2004, first "new" car I ever purchased. Financed for 60 months but paid it off in only 48.

Plan to drive'r till she dies!

:guitar3:

Bought mine straight up in february 09, $1850 cash :D it'll be a while before you ever find me buying a car that has a monthly payment, (im assuming the future wife will "have" to have some expensive ass car)

Be Carefull!!! Just don't let your future wife drive your 4runner! My wife named "our not my" 4runner "Medusa"! She then ordered personalized plates for "our" car with the name Medusa! And, she drives it more than me!!! :redbrick:

I usually don't have the discipline to save that much cash to buy a vehicle straight up. Between house, life, family etc. there always seems to be something draining the bank account.

But, paid cash for my CPO 04 in 08 thanks to Toyota and their buyback of my rusty framed 98 Taco. Thanks Toyota!

I fall in the >51% crowd. Purchased my 4Runner 3 years ago and financed 60 months at 0.9%; paid the interest off in the first payment. Don't get me wrong, I'm tempted to write a check for the balance of the loan, but it's been (almost) free money after the first payment.

Maybe it is because I'm young, but I financed mine completely and owe on it for another 5 years. I hope to have it paid off in less than 3. College loans come first.

We've owned the 2003 for quite a while, but the 2008 still has a bitmore to go. Trying to save as much $ as we're building a house!

Paid cash. A man and his money to his own, but I personally could never mod something the bank owned. No one ever plans for things to happen where they get their car gets repo'd, but it happens and It's only worse when they get the mods also. If you got the money to mod your daily driver you got the money to pay more on the loan.

Lol i just was figuring, i have afew years before i even have to start worrying about that, right now im just enjoying college. And my cars wont have some gay ass personal plates. :D

still finance thru Toyota but no mods done either other than stereo upgrades that can be easily swapped back to factory if need be
