Do you regret your two inch lift? How about your 3 inch lift?

I was on the fence with the Icon rears (still in the box new). I researched that they take a while to settle and since I didn't want too much of a lift (because I wanted to retain the stock 265 tire size), I switched out for a different pair of rear springs.
As has been stated, springs are a cheap exchange so I installed Wheeler T12 1.5" rears. They're phenomenal.
It allowed me to do about a 2.5 front lift (w/ Kings all around) and the 1.5" in the rear is accurate.
Along with these, I installed Falken wildpeak at3w with the Spidertrax.
Rides and looks exactly how I had hoped for. No regrets.

Do you have a third row or a lot of weight in the rear? I have 2.5" of lift in the rear with my T12's and Icon 2.0 shocks. I mated that with 6112's at 2.5" in front and I'm back to my stock rake (which I'm happy about).

2, 2.5,3, 3.5.... and now someone claiming 4 inches of lift?
How is everyone measuring to determine lift that was achieved? Everyone measuring from center hub to lower fender/quarter panel lip?

Does 23.5 inches from center hub to lower fender lip equate to 3.5 inches of lift if stock was about 20?

No extra weight or 3rd row. It was true to what they advertised it being. I'm @ 1.5.

I regret getting the 3" Icon Overland springs. They do NOT handle the weight of a CBI rear bumper and camping gear well. Will be switching out to OME 899s in a week or so.

...So, for those of you who went with the 2 inch lift, do you wish you had more? And 3 inch lifts, wish you went with less?

Thanks!

I went with 2.1” on the front and 1.5” in the rear (combo of Bilstein 5100 on 4 corners and “custom” daystar), I am very happy –IMHO: it is perfect compromise between height of the lift, alignment with stock UCA, quality of the shocks, longevity of the suspension and of course the ride quality (see my signature for more lift info). :high5:

I measured from the ground to the lip of my fender flares, and made sure I had equal air pressure in the tires when I remeasured. I didn't measure the lift right after it was installed, drove it about 50 miles over the course of a couple days in the city to make sure it was settled.

I'm at 2.9876" in the front and 2.5137" at the rear... the only thing i regret is decimal points...

same here. Although to be honest, I'd like to be about .0215" higher on the drivers side. Drives me nuts to know I'm leaning that much.

Haven't lifted the 4Runner yet. Going to do a similar setup to Jbatman but without the spacer or rear springs. I should get 1" up front, but that isn't what you are asking.

I regret almost everything I've done to my Tacoma 90% of the time. The lift, tires, and armor especially. I went from smooth everywhere and 20-22 mpg to stiffer and about 16-17 mpg.

The other 10% of time when I actually get to use it (ok, maybe it isn't quite 10%, but you get the point) I absolutely love it!

As someone on the first page said, 2" should be fine with the factory UCA. Since i already tagged jbatman, he was able to get his within factory spec. You really should consider UCAs at 3". Best deal seems to be SPC/Light Racing from Headstrong Offroad. My tacoma does not have UCAs and I cannot get it in spec, but it is close enough and I get even tire wear. Eventually, I'll save up enough to get them, but it's fine for now. I think I'm at about 2.5" in the front for reference.

Even at 2", you may want to consider the UCA. I read that they will eliminate "highway drift."

Im thinking about getting these springs ( Icon 52700 2" rear springs). Now im curious, why do you regret getting them?

Thanks.

He stated that he got 3" of lift on one side and 2" of lift on the other in the rear when he added them. I just put these coils on the rear with my Icon Stage 2 lift and both sides increased the same height... 2.25". His seems to be an anamoly as many others have used these without issue. Every vehicle is different, but I know more than a handful of people who run these no problem.

Missed response

I missed his reply, thanks for the update. I'm glad your experience with those springs is better. Im moving forward with my purchase. Going with Fox 2.0 shocks and those Icon springs for a 2" rear lift, to match my 2" Fox coilovers in the front.

I also run the 2 inch Icon rear coil springs and both sides are level.

Two inches front and one inch in the rear. I’m happy. I think if I went higher I would worry too much about my CV joints. Two/one is a good happy medium, it looks lifted, but is not too much.

I have a 1.5" up front and 1" out back over the TRD Pro 1". It's evident that it's not stock, but it isn't lifted enough for my personal tastes lol. I do like occasionally hitting 20-21mpg on the highway with my 275's, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want a 3"+ long travel kit and 34's. I am leaning towards running something similar next year.

Are you going to continue to run 275's with that setup or are you going to step it up a size or two?
