We fell in love with the TRD-Pro in White, but due to limited numbers and price we found an SR5.
Do you remember the first time you ever saw your 4Runner?

I was on my way to work and turned onto the exit ramp very last minute to see what Conicelli Toyota had on their used car lot. My intention was to look and price used RAV4s. I was taken to a lot about 1 mile away to see what more they had. I was walking through some cars when I saw my soon to be white limited. She parked unassumingly behind some other cars. Saw the window sticker and couldn't believe my eyes. It was going for $20 when I was pricing RAV4s in the low 20s. After I saw this, I immediately asked for a test drive and the idea to get a RAV4 died right there

There it was, on the dealer's site, and it looked just like a red 4Runner. When I eventually got around to going to the dealer a few weeks later, there it was, a dusty red 4Runner that had been sitting for nearly 2 months. Nobody liked red w/KDSS enough to even test drive it. 
Their loss was my good deal. The last '16 TEP on the lot. The last Trail of any kind in fact. High volume dealer too.

Ultimately, I bought it from a dealership 1.5 hours away... sight unseen. I gave them a deposit, and they had it delivered to our driveway, and brought the rest of the paperwork for me to sign.
It was in our driveway when we got home, they showed up a bit early. We both had big grins on our faces as we made the turn in the neighborhood and got the first glimpse. Funny part is the drivers weren't there. Just the new vehicle, LOCKED, sitting in the middle of the driveway. The drivers returned 5 minutes later. They made a pit stop at the local gas station while they waited.
The "delivery guys" were a semi-retired couple. He drove our 4Runner, his wife followed in their car. After all the paperwork was signed, they took it all back to the dealership. This service didn't cost anything extra, but I did give a nice tip for the effort. I had already got a $4114 discount below MSRP, so I felt generous!
Still had to door ding bumper guard on the door.

None of our local dealers had a 4Runner TRD Pro. Ultimately, I bought it from a dealership 1.5 hours away... sight unseen.
Great looking 4Runner. I really like the red TRDPro package, even though I'm a quicksand type guy.

Im on my second 1st gen, saw it on a wheeling trip with a guy from this forum, and after I rolled my '89 I bought his '87 just last month! The first one I saw on craigslist and then in person when I traded a 1996 K3500 6.5TD for it.

I sold my Suby a couple years ago, added another dog to the family so I needed something bigger, reliable, and 4wd.
The first car I ever bought when I was 16 was a 1978 toyota corolla at a junk yard. $295. 27 yrs later I bought my second toyota. 2010 SR5 with premium package. Found it in Arizona, 69,000 miles, original owner who purchased the extended warranty from Toyota, which is still good for a few more months. Flew down to Tempe from Oregon, spent a few night exploring the area and drove home.
Tomorrow the runner gets new Fox 2.5 CO's 2.0 rears, with T13 springs, and Total Chaos UCA's. The beginning of what looks to be a lot of mods in the future.
