You're probably surrounded by ridiculous 2011 Explorers and Grand Cherokees on car chassis. LOL
And they are definitely NOT on this forum.
i'm an old fart who spent major $$$ for mods,accessories,parts,supplies,etc. on my first and brand new truck which was a 1986 FJ60 (RIP- totaled by a neighbor in 8/10!)and now drive a 2010 black TE with KDSS which i will be satisfied to leave stock! (At least that's what i promised my wife after all the $$$ spent on the FJ60 the past 24 years!)
so you guys will probably stereotype me as not a member of this forum!
i had to fly down to so cal back in march 2010 for my TE as none was available in nor cal! to date, i have seen maybe only one or two stock TE/SR5/Limited if at all! blame it on my eyesight?!
on second thought, i plan to replace the stock hornASAP and tires when the time comes!

I'm between Ann Arbor and Detroit and didn't see any 5th gen at all until about six months ago. Now, all of a sudden they're all over the place! Mine is black and now there are two other black 5g and one black 4g in my own neighborhood. Considering that I'm smack dab in the middle of Ford country that's a LOT!

Now that's FAF (funny as fu$#).
I've had mine for about two weeks, one of which I've been in SoCal. (BTW - I don't know if I can go home... except to get my runner) So really I haven't had the time to do any mods, but my head has been on a swivle for a while,as I knew I was getting a 5th gen for a while. For the longest time I rarely saw any in the Houston area, but recently they seemed to have been springing up everywhere. No mods, and mostly mom mobiles.
As for me, as I said, I haven't done anything, but the stickers will soon be ordered once I make up my mind on 2 or three and size. As soon as I get back home the running boards are gone. Other than lift and a real roof rack I am not sure what to do on my blizzard pearl runner. Pondering the black handles and such, but not sure. Some exhaust change is soooooo needed. It seems like a Honda civic when I start it compared to my gen 4's.
I agree, although I've only ever seen one confirmed t4r.org member ever, a universal wave would be cool. Maybe a hang loose type thing?
Wow. I don't know if THEY are on the forum, but I know THEY are all in Denver! I had a business trip into Denver earlier this week. While a 5th gen sighting is still a fairly rare occurrence a couple hours south of the city, they were literally everywhere in the Denver area. I saw the first Shoreline Blue 5th gen I've ever seen (Limited). So. if anyone is having a hard time finding a T4R, come to Denver!

Yup, I'm off of Mason. (which I avoid like the plague during certain times of day, as well as north of 10 but in tha tcase pretty much all the time)
Right now, the only way to identify me is a sticker on the back window of a gargoyle head on a red x. (Stone Brewing in Escondido got many of my tourist dollars. It's an adult disneyland, I'm sure you'd agree iDRiVaT4R. I should have got the tow hitch cover)
iDRiVaT4R, I was surprised at how few I saw in SoCal. I saw a trail on 5, but couldn't shoot it. Other than that I saw a silver on on a navy base and another one on 5. I did note that there were a lot of Gen 2's and 3's kicking it. It seems people hold on to their vehicles much longer than here in Houston. Then again the cost of living is much higher, and the proximity to fun sun and the surf may give one other priorities.

Interesting. That would have to be an SR5 or an aftermarket mod. I don't think the Limited comes with the sonar sensors (which is odd).
My silver SR5 is pretty incognito to the casual passer-by. I've done the interior LED and puddle light mods, huskys, ipod pedestal mount in cup holder, and on the outside it's debadged and has a plastidipped toyota emblem on the grill. I'm like some of the other guys that have modded the hell out of my past vehicles so I'm taking my time with it. Although I have to admit that I can't wait until my duelers wear out so I can go ahead with a lift, tires, and rims.

I've just traded my 2001 Dodge dakota in on a pearl white 2011 SR5. I took my daughters advise, as she took delivery of an '11 black one. It pulls her boat just fine. I needed something to pull a heavy pop up camper. I too look for t4r's and there aren't many around here. About mods, I am not that mechanically inclined to pull it apart to replace something that already works. Zi/

this is a great thread....cuz it fits me PERFECT haha i love checkin out other peoples T4Rs and wondering if they are on this site or if they have done any mods that i cant see. my wife always gets on me about it lol my favorite thing to do is every once and a while i will just flash my brights real quick at a fellow T4R to show the respect and when i look in my rear view half of them are pressing my brakes cuz they think im letting them know there is a cop ahead...now i kind of do it as a joke and respect haha good times
