Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Just finished and I am super happy with the results. Needed to unhook the stabilizer bar brackets from the frame and loosened the outer tie bar ends for the front. For the rear, needed to unhook the stabilizer bar to get the springs in. Also needed to remove the brake line bracket to gain enough room for the last spring.

The only casualty was the brake bracket bolt which is not too shabby for an 8 year old truck.

Specs:
302 front
505 rear
275/70/17 tires

These really stand up great to their OEM counterparts.

Nice comparison photos!!

Now you just need to do the rear upper and lower trailing arms, and get comparisons of those.

Then the rear sway bar links...

Then the front UCA's....

Then the...

I've been lifted since Oct 10th and am extremely happy with my Dobinson's setup.

I went with the 724 fronts and 723 in the rears, thus an intentional 1.75/1.5. I wanted to be a little conservative and I'm grateful I could lift a little utilizing springs instead of spacers. Dobinson struts all around as well.

On install day, Oct 10th, my measurements were a little over 2 at all four corners. Today, my measurements were 2 up front and 1.75 average between the rears.

Sure, I have exact measurements, but I wasn't unwilling to unload my truck of the 300lbs I have in it of gear. Also, I have a full tank of gas as well, so the L side was a little lower than the R (and some of my gear/storage makes the truck L side heavy anyway, which I may rethink, but I really like where my stuff is in the truck at the moment.)

@Dobinsons_Mike

If I want to achieve 3"/2" Fr/Rr on 2011 Limited, is this what I need to purchase?

Dobsons C59-314
Dobsons C59-325
Dobsons GS59 - 700
Dobsons GS59 - 701
Dobsons DD59-527K
Dobsons UCA

Also: Would I need to reuse my top hats from my front struts?

Yes, that list of parts would work, depending on the weight you have on the truck front and rear.

Yes, you can reuse your top hats, you'd just have to pull them off your stock struts. Or you can buy new ones for $40ea if you need.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm thinking of adding the KYB top hats. I don't have a front bumper or rear bumper yet, but will have a full Gobi roof rack. I plan on adding bumpers later, but I will upgrade at that time.

I'm looking at
300 front
599 rear

Is there any reason I couldn't run the stock shocks/struts?

It has less than 5000 miles on it

You could, but they would most likely be running at full extension, so they wouldn't last as long as they're supposed to, as it would have a damaging effect on the shock constantly "topping out" as they say.

If anyone is interested in used C59-325 rear coils let me know. And I would be super willing to trade for 505 coils. The rear is just too high for the front right now.

Edit: I'm feeling better about the setup. Going to hold off for now.

Finally got all of the 'long travel' lift parts put on and the rear sway bar is off.
This was not an easy system to install.

The upper control arm ball joints were a bear to install.

The arms themselves... I'm still not sure they fit 100% correct, but the hardcore off-road side of me likes it. (If you want more info on that pm me, I don't want to add to any negativity I've already seen on here about the dobinson arms.)
You have to get creative with ABS wire routing, the oem brackets cannot be modified to fit. It's easier just to ditch them.
The arms make some noise... can't hear it unless windows are down and the ground is kinda choppy. But boy do they articulate!

The coil springs for the front struts are wound just close enough together that once you have them installed on the strut, you have to beat the compressor arms out with a hammer.

If you're going to run the progressive wound rear coils, I've found it's mandatory to run a set of adjustable rear control arms. The axle needs to be rocked back (pinion raised) and the whole axle shifted back about an inch for the rear shocks to fit correctly into the frame pocket. It took 2 guys pulling backwards on them to get the upper stud to drop into the frame pocket.

Aside from all that... the ride is incredible. No more floating on a cloud outta control feeling. It's firm, and well controlled. Brake dive is 80% gone. It soaks up slower speed choppy roads and gravel/graded roads well (sub 40mph). But you can tell what you're driving over.
As the speed picks up it shines. I've hit a couple large bumps at highway speed, and it takes it without a care. Super impressive. Cruising on the crappy Texas highways, you'd never really know you're in a lifted SUV. Still handles and feels great.
Overall lift was close to 5" front and 3.5 rear.

I might be able to help you out. Are your 325s teal or red? I bought the 505s, plus I think that's all Mike had in stock was red 505s. I have the OME 10mm spacers just in case I needed that 325 height.

Mine are teal, I don't care about having red coils though.

Are the C59-748 coils still available?
Your TRD coil thread seems to be gone (link in original post).

I've been blasted with a lot of questions recently about our suspension offerings for the 5th Gen 4Runners, so I figured it's time to make a specific post about all that we offer. We can lift anywhere from 1.0" to 3.0" with coils and struts/shocks, and we can put together a specific package for whatever you want/need, including the added weight you've added to your vehicle.

Update 5/24/17: Anyone wanting to lift their TRD Pro 4Runner with coils instead of spacers, check out the new thread here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/238640-trd-pro-4runner-lifted-coil-options-dobinsons.htmla

Added 8/29/17: Here is an album I just created trying to collectively gather all the photos I can of installed Dobinsons products. I'm showing the part numbers used and lift height gained, where possible.
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/membe...-dobinsons+parts+installed++part+numbers.html

Added 10/4/17: Front UCA's, Rear upper and lower adjustable trailing arms, rear sway bar end links, and front sway bar relocation kit are now all in stock.
