I don't like the idea of having to rebuild the MRRs every year (I put 30,000 to 50,000 miles a year on my Natalia), but they ride so nice.

Hi Mark, this isn't true. They don't have a "rebuild date" or time/mileage on maintenance.

Yes, they can be rebuilt, but NO, they shouldn't need to be rebuilt. They come with a full 2 year warranty, so if anything happens during that time, they will be replaced, unless it's a simple part of them that needs replacing.

Out of sheer curiosity... Do you have pictures of these mounted up, and which ones did you go with?

I am seriously considering this setup come bonus time...

I'll try to get a ""glamour shot" in the next couple of days but my ride's no show pony so I can't guarantee results. It's lifted slightly (2" front, 1" rear"), leveled out and completely encrusted with road salt and grime right now!

I went with:

C59-300 Front Spring
C59-599 Rear Spring
GS59-700 Front Strut
GS59-701 Rear Shock (heavy duty)

I went with the assembly with new top hats for the fronts - I figured with 115k miles I needed the new top hats anyhow and the assembly is only $30 a side - and that made installation SUPER quick and easy. I'm a slow mechanic and the whole install only took me 4 hours all around working solo.

Surprisingly even with the 2" lift up front my alignment shop was able to get PLENTY of caster it actually ended up closer to the high end of the specification.

I really like the ride. Nice and smooth but firmed up and WAY more controlled vs my old stock setup. Haven't really tried them off road yet - it's not ME that's going to get stuck in the high country and leave his truck up there until spring!!

Yes, that's correct. If you ever did manage to blow a seal or somehow damage them, they could be repaired/rebuilt, but it's not likely to happen within 2 years.

The race trucks in Australia that are sponsored by Dobinsons use off-the-shelf MRR shocks. This is an old video now, but all the MRR development was done on this guy's truck (Olly Clews) until they got it right, then they took all those design features and that and applied it to other vehicles.

Here is some long travel rear flex with the C59-677V's. These springs work great, but I am running pretty heavy and will be upgrading to the C59-701V soon. They are already sitting in the garage thanks to [MENTION=148378]Dobinsons Mike[/MENTION] for the quick turn around.

I am going 6112/5160 and looking to lift 2-2.5" in front and roughly 2"ish in the rear. I have a 2016 Trail Premium with KDSS, RCI sliders (90 lbs), Baja Utility Flat roof rack + ladder (100 lbs), rear storage box (75-150 lbs depending on load).

Occasional, but often when offroading: Tepui Kukeman RTT (150 lbs)

Future: hidden winch mount and 9-10k winch

Which of these springs would you recommend with this weight load/rear shock? I'd say I have made it to the heavier of the two, but I was also curious of the impact to the ride quality should I be driving at the lighter end of that weight spectrum (i.e. no tent, storage box)?

C59-725 - Stock rear end, 1.75" lift with 3rd row, 2" without, offset height coils for KDSS leveling (similar to C59-325). 430/415mm, 17mm wire, 228LB

C59-727 - 200-400LB heavy rear load weight, 2" lift, offset height coils (similar to C59-327). 430/415mm, 18mm wire, 271LB

Oh and you bet I want that teal!

I'd say it depends on how much extra gear you also carry when you add the box and tent into the mix. Plus people. You don't want to bottom out. The C59-727 would be the right coil with the accessory weight, and to support extra added weight, like camping and cooking gear, etc. But when you take that stuff out, you'll be taller. It will still ride alright, but you're going to change by probably 1/2", if not more, in ride height. That's basically why the listing starts at 200LBS and goes to 400LBS of extra weight. Take out your stuff and you'll be maybe just at the 200LB mark, but add the tent and box, you'll be right between the 200-400.

Oh, and you'll maintain ground clearance, which is very important when loaded down.

But if you truly only go fully loaded camping 2x a year, maybe run the 725 coils so that your 99% road driving isn't affected. Just something to keep in mind.

271LBS is still a lighter spring rate than a lot are running with rear OME coils, so the ride will still be good when unloaded with the heavier 727 coils, but you'll just have more rear height when empty.

Thanks for the feedback, Mike. I ended up placing an order from you on Amazon for the C59-725. I think these will be fine for what I am looking to do. They should be adequate when loaded up as they look to be somewhere between the spring rates of the Toytec Superflex which are reviewed as "comfortable" and the "uncomfortable if not loaded down properly" OMEs at around 260lbs.

So the front will have about 150-200lb constant additional weight. I have 3rd row seats, a roof rack, and 100lbs of tools on the back. I want to stop the nose dipping during breaking and I go to off road a coupletimes a month. Needing ground clearance and for larger tires.* I also bring about 300lb of gear during my weekend trips.


What do you recommend?*
