Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Ok, here is where I am at with the lift kit I have planned:

Front springs: 302 (2.5")
Rear springs: 325 (2")

Front struts: 574
Rear struts: 701

Front UCA: UCA59-002K
Strut caps: SC59-001
Rear sway bar end link: SE59-529

Diff drop: ToyTec
Front sway bar relocation: ToyTec


I am trying to achieve a close to level lift overall.


Does the above setup seem complete? or am I missing something?

If you want it level, you need to be 1.5" higher in the front than the back.

Close to level would be somewhere around 1" higher in the front than the back.

So if you keep the 2.5" lift coil in the front, you would want a 1 or 1.5" lift coil in the back to get either level or close to level.

Should be doing my install this weekend. Got the yellow shocks and struts and my wife immediately said uke: and to fix that issue. So since the cost was pretty much the same no matter the color I decided to match everything.

Here is my 2013 Trail with the 726/700 and the 723/705 shocks and springs. I also installed the ARB bull bar, no winch yet. Rocky Road Outfitters super sliders. Stock size General Grabber AT2 tires.

Just went on some trails that I did back when our 4R was stock and must say I am very pleased with the Dobinsons! Did some "high" speed runs with them and boy was it smooth! No regrets! Plus I think the teal coils look great!

Now really curious to see how MRRs perform...next unnecessary but fun upgrade?

Install done.

In reference to the Caster, drivers side adjusted to 4, passenger side wouldn't go any higher than what you see so they had to dial it back down. I was hoping to get 4 across the board, no luck at the shop I went to. May try another shop down the road.

Immediate post install pic for height reference and passenger measurements at home. Drivers side is about 1/2 inch lower.

It’s been roughly 5,000 miles and I am completely thrilled with the ride both on and off road. Super smooth on dirt roads.

For me it’s absolutely perfect for driving in town and loaded down with camping gear for 5. The suspension definitely increased my confidence level while driving a loaded rig down the road.

I went with 300/700 front and 599/705 rear after much deliberating and couldn't be happier. Was debating 302 and 325 for the springs for an extra inch or so but am not planning on/wanting to get new UCAs and am staying with stock tire size so a more mild lift was what I was going for without breaking the bank. Mike was top notch, answered all my questions, and I had a lot.

That's great man, I'm glad you're happy with it.

It really is hard to portray to someone how much better a vehicle can feel when you have the right suspension on there, and how you can gain confidence in the ability of your truck. Not to mention the better control, less sway, less nose dive, etc, allowing you to better enjoy the scenery instead of having to grip the wheel so tight!!

You definitely have a really good setup with running stock tire size. Had another guy yesterday pull the trigger on the same setup!!

Anyone else running these adjustable sway bar links? Any advice on length adjustment? I am planning to set them an inch longer than stock. 3” OME lift.

I have them along with 302 springs sitting in my basement that I need to put on. I'm lifted 2" in the rear so hoping these set 1" longer will help to align my sway bar similar to stock again.
