Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Westin doesn't say how much that thing weighs. Any ideas? That's what will dictate what front coils to run.

Factory rake is about 2" front to rear, so by lifting the front 2" and the rear 1", you'll have a 1" rake.

"Level" would be not to lift the rear, but that's not a good idea in case you do load up. Reverse rake has negative effects on the steering up front.

Had to do some digging. Grille weighs 70 lbs. Want a lift and it to be level. So far, I haven't had much in the back or towed. Not planning on it either.

Hope the info helps.

Ok. I'd have to suggest C59-302 on the front, should end up with about 2.25" with that front weight, then C59-599 in the rear for 1" lift with no rear weight.

Last question: What can be done about the driver side lean? I imagine it will be worse with replacement springs. The OE driver front spring is longer than the passenger. As far as I can tell, all AF options are equal length (passenger/driver). So my lean would be even worse. What single spacer would you recommend to compensate for it all?

Ive got 302s and 325s. My 4Runner leans less than 1/8 inch. I couldn't be happier with the out come. The 1/8'' lean is all in the noise and not noticeable.

The only thing I'd change is I should have gotten longer rear end links from the beginning.

Most 5th Gens don't lean with our parts. After install, if you have a lean, you can add a front 1/4" top mount spacer, or a rear 10mm or 15mm spacer to the low side if necessary, but it's not normal to add one before it's all installed.

Older Toyota's lean, generally from years of frame twist.

Well said, the lean is in the noise!

2.5-2.75 front 1.5-1.75 rear. Mild BMC will need to be done asap.

Rides much better then stock. 10ply 285 AT3W knocks harshens it up a bit but still much better then stock. Spacers to fit.

The rear end is fighting to settle and has a bit of extra rake over factory. I fully expect that to settle down a bit more. As a result I think it's still bit stiff. Comes down a tad hard off curbs and all that.

Despite getting offset coils in the rear I still have a pretty bad lean up front. Castor suffered on the driver's side as a result. 3.2 on the left and 3.9 on the right. Drives straight as an arrow tho. Much improved. I'll let the suspension settle out. See if I still have lean. Add a 10mm shim on the pass front if needed. Re align either way.

Can't wait to see how she does off-road. Ran out of time and energy this weekend.

Just bought my daughter a 19 TRD OffRoad Premium, any suggestions on Running Boards?

Ordered the Toyota Predators through the dealership which I don’t have to keep them if I don’t like them, any recommendations, she’s just getting into going on trails but nothing serious like rock crawling or deep mud.

With the kdss kit I have in my truck with the rear offset coils should I expect it to correct lean in the front once the springs settle? Or is there a chance it won't correct it and I will still need a shim up front?

Usually it does, but not all vehicles lean, and the ones that do don't always lean the same. Plus, you have KDSS which can cause a lean itself if it wasn't managed properly during the installation of the suspension.
