Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

You installed the 599s (which you did not buy from my site) and you posted how much better it was in a follow up post.

Fast forward a few weeks and you're having front issues. I passed that info on to David at Dobinsons to give him a heads up about a possible warranty on those and he has been taking care of it since. You have posted up the summary of that situation also.

Are not Dobinsons shipping out of Miami? Are you not a representative of the company?

No...no he is not.

Can’t wait to get that return label David so graciously said he would provide for your companies own r&d. I wouldn’t want to financially burden Dobinsons with another shipping label for the coils I was advised to purchase. After all my budget is endless. It’s the least I could do for your company.

I understand your frustration with Dobinsons but can you please try to find another avenue to vent? Maybe create a new a thread and that may get some positive action towards the issue you're facing with the company. Hope it all works out in the end.

Not a half bad idea.

Anyways I’ve said everything I need to.

My apologies everyone. No excuses.

302 / 505

I went with 302s in the front and 505s in the rear. I thought I was going to do 505s in the rear. I thought I wanted 325s in the rear, but this picture convinced me otherwise (https://www.toyota-4runner.org/memb...-part-numbers-picture50863-c59302-c59505.html).

Starting fender heights on driver side: 34.75" (front) & 36.75" (rear)
Day after fender heights on driver side: 37.75" (front) & 39" (rear)

Really happy with ride quality and height so far. Will try to remember to measure fenders again next weekend.

What shocks in the front??

I am looking for a suggestion on replacing my rear wheeler t13 coils. Right now I got approximate 2.75 in lift in the front and 1.5 in the rear after adding wheeler t13 and 10mm OME trim packer on driver and passenger side. I like the look till i start adding gear, yeti cooler, 4 bikes, and two kids. Thats when I start to get a reverse rake. Any suggestions on what springs I should look into. Right now I am looking at OME 2895e. They have a spring rate of 260 vs wheelers 190.

Sounds like you need the heavier rate so you may as well use those OME coils.

Dobinsons doesn't make a coil with that heavy rate but that short. Ours are 220LB rate, not a considerable jump from the 190. 190 is stock rate, FYI

Thank you for the response. I still have a question on two of your springs, C59-325 and C59-327.
What are their free height and spring rate?

Anybody have a set of C59-599 rears they're not using?

I have 505 rears installed now, and my lift has always been higher than advertised. I've recently sold my RTT and reduced the amount of weight I carry. The end result is 2.5"-2.75" of rake. I'd like to install shorter springs to reduce the rake closer to factory specs.

Thanks!

Mikey just wanted to apologize for my attitude. I'm man enough to admit I ****ed up.

In my blind rage it never occured to me that you are not directly affiliated dobions usa. Just seen you where in Miami and I made an assumption. I never even noticed the Exit Offroad stuff. When you said that you weren't associated I didn't put two and two together. Especially since Dave said you where working on the issue with them. Totally threw me off. I feel like a ****ing ******* (which maybe I am).

I should have ordered from you from the start as you where the one helping me.

Despite my battle with my front coils I'm genuinely sorry to you for being childish. It was undeserved.

It's ok. I was sending all the posts to David so that he could help you out and resolve the situation.

Something I noticed recently is that the Tapatalk app doesn't show signatures and others have missed my info too.

Makes sense but still no excuse on my end. I was way out of line.

Tapatalk in general is fairly awful. Half the time I cant access anything from it.

Anyone in socal want to purchase a set of used C59-300 front coils (teal) and GS59-705 rear shocks?

I have a bumper/winch on the way so going to move up to the 302 coils. Also carrying more weight in the back all the time so would like the 701s as I feel the 705s are too soft for the weight I have in the back.

After running both the 5100 and the dobinson shocks, I will say the dobinson stuff is far and away better in quality and ride characteristics. Just my opinions. I’ve had the dobinson kit on for well over a year now.

Argyle Edison ...On the outside chance that you still remember how these setups feel...I was wondering how the ride was between the 5100 shocks/Dobinson coils were compared to the complete Dobinson shocks/coils kit? What kit and coils did you run and did you have any added weight to the 4Runner? Thanks.
