Dobinsons MRR MRA install tips

This is just to make your install faster, there are other threads about spring rates and settings.

Front: First off when putting on adjusters... don’t lose or forget the tiny ball and spring. Pic one. Also if you take the hex bolt out of the shock, there is another small steal ball there.

Ignore all the you tube videos taking half the front suspension apart. You will undue exactly 6 bolts/nuts. 14mm top 3 on strut. 19mm bottom shock. Two 19mm holding the lower control arm. Now get a ratchet strap and just pull the lower A arm down and slide the shock out. See pic two. Assembly in reverse. No need for alignment b/c you didn’t mess with adjustor/caster plates.

Rear: Its way more of a pain in the ass FYI, front should be less then an hour per side.

Undue both nut/bolt holding shock and reservoir if you have a pro. Now cut/beat the crap out of the pinch weld above the nut b/c it will make your life easier putting on the new nut on the new shock.

Here is where it gets sketchy..... place scissor or bottle Jack b/t axl and bump stop to get spring out. Might have to use hilift to raise axl/hub to put top nut on.

Mount reservoirs under frame using provided brackets. They are different but labeled “R” and “L”. Careful so driver one doesn’t contact fuel tank skid. Don’t forget to undue the sway bar link, 12mm. Top nut is weird 18mm, bottom is 17mm.

If you have KDSS it helps to take the mount off the rigid side. Then it only need about 1/2” to fit the coils and spacer in. Working with a friend, you shouldn’t need a jack. But working by yourself it helps.

ha "no need for alignement" thats where youre wrong. Just cause you didnt touch the LCA cam bolts doesnt mean the alignment is still good.

Might take it in but my tires are old anyways and I had a similar height lift on before this install...... either way...... fronts were easy. Might relocate rear reservoirs. Hard to access them now.

Relocated the rear reservoirs. Do yourself a favor and don’t. Untill someone comes out with a specific bracket. Too much work to get everything to clear.
Also, make sure the rebound screw on the bottom of the rear shocks is facing OUT! Hope this helps!

How do your fronts feel going over speed bumps? My rear suspension feels fine. But my front suspension feels pretty harsh going over speed bumps unless going very slow. Also my driver side rebound adjuster on top is pretty much touching a welded on bolt above it that’s on the fender liner. Think I should break it down and re bolt everything down for that driver side? I originally had a lean spacer. But took it out and ran into that issue. Thanks!

I’m on the default Prada settings and all feels fine but I will play around with the settings.

And ya, front adjusters almost touch the brazed on nuts. Seems fine tho? Might take em out and pound the liner like I thought of doing prior to install.

Looks good! Mine is similar I took the provided bracket and cut tab where it mounts to the frame

As of now no clearence issues.

Still trying to dial in settings for everyday road use.

Question for you or anyone who is running mra..any tips on adjusting spring seat up while
Under load?
