Does anyone know for FACT if a TE roof rack fits an SR5?

A quick question to this fountain of knowledge of a forum. Does anybody/has anybody put a factory trail edition roof rack on an SR5? If so please tell me how easy/complicated it was to do so. Can you use the bolts from an SR5 Roof rack for a Trail Rack?

Indeed Phillyd2. I'm selling my rack and trying to confirm that i'll will fit. Since when is the internet not full of facts?! I rely on it 100%! (Joke):jump:

As far as a write up for the Passport 9500ci Radar System. I didn't do one, though I did install it myself. Pretty easy and has worked great since (over a year now). I would be happy to post some pictures or walk you through the install? The display unit, I got a buddy of mine to place it within the OME mirror. I dread clutter and wires, personal pet peeve!

I'm going to go out on a limb here: No, I have not swapped the racks. I do think though they will interchange as making them with a different footprint would require changing the mounting points which would require Toyota to have to P/N a bunch of things differently just for a different rack option.

FWIW they were all interchangeable on the 4th gen.

Yep, it fits fine with no problems. I just put a TE rack on my SR5 last week. Just remember to give the buyer the black roof bolts as the hidden bolts on the SR5 rack are silver and stand out a bit.

ha ha, certainly will do that then. I have been meaning to build a proper thread with all my mods done. Its just this thing called life that seems to keep getting in the way! With x-mas on its way, things are crazy. It maybe a few days. Will do one for sure though!

I'm not replacing the Gobi and never will. ohhhh, hot off the press. In the winter edition of Overland Journal they did a roof rack test, gobi sort of got second place. But they said that the Baja rack began to "sag" i.e bend when loaded up! Look for it, if you get the publication? I got a glimpse at a shop who had the publication.

I will in time... in order for my sig, I sadly have to work, and work hard I do!~
