Does the 2010-2012 4Runner Trail kick ass?

All I'll say to that is that when we went to OEX in Conn. back in March...the 4runner was the only one to make it up 2 separate hills that the other two vehicles couldn't...

TE...no lift...Revo tires....and horse$hit driver.....

Gotta give the vehicle props where props are due... :zoom:

KDSS System description .....Right out of the repair manual
In the KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), a cylinder is installed to each of the front and rear stabilizer bars. The front and rear cylinder upper chambers and the front and rear lower chambers are each connected by a pipe. The hydraulic circuit is filled with high-pressure suspension fluid. The stabilizer control ECU controls the stabilizer control solenoid valves according to input signals from sensor.

Stabilizer Control ECU's function:

Closes the stabilizer control solenoid valves according to input signals from the sensor to cut the fluid flow to the accumulators.

Turns on the KDSS indicator light in the combination meter to inform the driver when an abnormality is detected in the KDSS. When this happens, a DTC is stored.

This makes me even more anxious to get my TE ... only 2.5 more months!!

Gotta plan my first trip off road with my brother in law and his Rubicon.
 
i've taken my completely stock TE everywhere. even with the stock bridgestone HT's

the vehicle is one of the most capable out there and there is no question about its off road prowess.

there's been threads where folks have sold off their 4runners because it just wasn't sporty enough or it wasnt luxurious enough.

The 4runner is what it is, a mid-size body on frame suv with a well balanced on and off road charisma.

Those that only spend time on pavement never really get to know their 4runners. Hence why other vehicles become more attractive. Those that take it off road, even on mild tracks like the beach or forest service roads, smile/grin every single time they think about the next place they can take it.

i've taken mine up deactivated forest service roads, rocky trails, plenty of mud/sand and snow. its gotten me through everywhere and anywhere that i've needed to be.

i think the real beauty of the 4runner shines when its getting a bit dirty. :D


other vehicles may get you there, but the 4runner will always get you home :cheers:
