Does the 5th gen have a stock oil cooler (sandwich style by the oil filter)?

My 3rd gen 4runner has one, as did my stock (race version) Mazda MX-5.

I read that while these are pretty useful to basically bring the oil up to speed faster to reduce cold start engine wear (they bring the oil up to speed by getting it warm against the coolant, which gets warm faster), and also by turning the coolant system's excess heat capacity into a radiator for the oil, too.

I know many are using external coolers for towing, but was just curious, as I've had great engine life out of the last 2 cars above.

This engine uses 0W-20 synthetic fluid. Viscosity is not an issue so no real need to get it warm faster.

Yes it does. Had to replace the hoses on mine at 100000 miles.

The 4th gen 4Runners have one, and 2nd gen Taco's have one, but my brother's FJ does not.
