Hey folks, I ordered a blank transponder key from Amazon and it arrived in a sealed baggie it two pieces. Is there something missing? Is the "chip" supposed to be laying between the two ends of the channel ? Or is the chip embedded I that larger end of the small piece? Hope that makes sense. I had it cut and it operates the doors and rear lift gate perfectly. Any ideas as to what to do from here or what is or is not missing please help .

Regards,
Richard

Funny. I ordered the same key from Amazon and got it last week. It does not have a chip in it as advertised. I complained to the seller and he refunded the price and let me keep the key.

You can go to certain locksmith and copy the chip in an OEM key you already have. But I bought a key with a chip to avoid that.

Double check the listing... They may want you to cut apart your old key and implant the chip into this one.

If not, it should have come with a blank chip to be duplicated I assume.

The add said it came with a chip that was programmed that could be learned by your truck--assuming you ordered the same key I did.

The key you got requires you to go to a locksmith to clone an OEM key. No need to go through the learning process then, but not what you ordered. The hole in the key is where you put the cloned chip.
