Door Lock Issue

So a while back I had a bad day with my 2016 Trd Pro.

It started with a break in (smashed passenger window) and was followed up by me damaging the passenger side rear quarter in the same parking lot.

We were 5 hours from home on a cold day so stopped to have the window replaced en route.

About 2 weeks later I took it in to have the rear quarter repaired.

So now to the issue.

I have today realized that after driving the passenger side door won't open from the inside, I have to walk round to open it from the outside. Also the key fob doesn't lock the door, I have a compustar pro tii and neither that or the original key will lock the passenger side. Also to note the lock button on the passenger door is floppy with no resistance.

Thing is, I am fairly certain it was working ok after the window replacement and its only now having issues after the body work, which to me seems weird, unless somehow the body shop had to do something with the passenger door.

Looking for advice because I don't know who to get in contact with first, the window place is 4 hours away

Thanks

Yeah that's weird. Gotta be something with the lock. Didn't see it in your post is child lock engaged? That'll keep u from opening door from inside. Doesn't explain looseness tho

There are 2 cables inside the door. One for the lock and one for the handle. They snap into their homes behind the door panel. The cable for the door lock is not connected. Pull the door panel and reconnect. It'll take 5 minutes tops- easy.

Yep. Sounds like lock rod popped out of the clip.

Is the door panel easy to remove for a numpty like me?

Just seems a little odd that it locks while driving

Yeah no problem. Look at YouTube on how to take a door panel off. They are all basically the same. Just make sure you pay attention to how it comes off so you can remember the sequence to put it back on. Once you get in there you should see the problem. If not take a pic and post it. Or you can be like me and take a working door panel apart just to see how it works...
