Door Sill Protectors for '03 4runner

When you say "must have", I'm not sure if you are saying we feel the need to have everything for our 4Runners or if you are saying we own everything for our 4Runners. I deffinately don't have everything for my 4Runner and don't necessarily want everything for it. I just like see what it out there for us and discussing it. This way, if I ever get the opportunity to get something via my wife's generosity, I know what I want and can get it in that small window of opportunity.

whoops, sorry if that came off wrong. I didn't mean to imply you guys were accessory whores or anything like that. I just meant that you guys seem to be in every thread that mentions some new accessory for the Runner.

Yeah I hear you, I really have to stay away from this board because someone seems to post some new product every day.

My list of wants keeps exceeding by ability to buy....

wish list:

door sill protectors
v6 supercharger (thank goodness for the x-runner)
exhaust
infinity basslink
alarm with remote start
etc................

I dont want to do an exhaust, i did one on my last truck and it was never right. Just never quite sat right under there. Thats with bring it to a few places to try to get it right. That kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

I would love to get side view mirrors off of a limited.

Received mine door sill protectors last Wednesday. Unforturnately one of the front ones was bent. I am having the dealer to re-ship the front pair but they have to order them (back-ordered). Attached are some pictures of how they look in my rig. I DID NOT install them. I just basically laid them on the sill piece and take those pictures. Hopefully this will give you guys some idea of how they might look installed.

Are the sills really just installed with a 3M adhesive? Do you think the adhesive will be sturdy and last a long time? The door sills look great and I'm thinking about getting them if they are durable and the adhesive really holds them in place over the long haul.
 
thanks for the pics. do these overlay the factory sills or are they complete replacements?
 
I haven't yet installed these yet so I am not sure how well the 3M adhesive will work. I guess these will be good enough to hold the sill protectors over the long haul on mormal use.

From the instruction, you basically clean the original plastic door sills and the stainless steel pieces go on top of them.

I was hoping there are just '4Runner' without all those graphics.. oh well....
 
thanks copperx. as far as the 3M backing, it should hold up. i had some sills on my 98 runner that i bought from performanceproducts and they never once moved in the 6 yrs i had them on. granted they where attached to painted body parts instead of on top of plastic trim.
 
Good news. I've had some made for 4th gen 4Runners and hope to get some 3rd gens done too.

Tell me what you think. All stainless and I may even allow for custom logos and artwork.
