Door unlock detection switch?

Can anybody tell me what the door unlock detection switch dose? I am working on relocating relocating all the switches on my doors to the center console and installing quick disconnect conactors and want to know what needs to be connected and what it dosnt need to be there.

Well I didn't find quite what I was looking for but my best guess is that it is the system that keeps you from locking the door with the key in the ignition if that's the case I will ditch it because with my busted ignition lock it registers that the key is there when it's not.
