how about Tacoma "Pipe Bomb" Y-Pipe, will these work in the 4runner?

Yep, they will work. I just installed the off-road y-pipe form URD. They are actually a much better fit than the stock pipe which is very restricted. URD has re-routed the pipe section that goes underneath the transfer case so that it doesn't get pinched and sits closer to the frame.
I have the pipe that is for the 2008 Tacoma 4wd. The only mod to the runner is the hanger on the y-pipe is on the drivers side where as the hanger on the runner is on the passenger side. You just have to relocate the hanger. Additionally, where the end of the y-pipe attaches to the cat back section, there will be a 6 inch overlap because the y-pipe extends further back than the 4 runner pipe. So you will have to cut and shorten the pipe that goes from the connection to the muffler. Other than that, it fits perfectly. I hope this answers your questions.

the urd is almost 500 bucks, im talkin abiout the dt y pipe, which only cost less than 200, thats why im asking if that one would work. u got pics of that urd pipe on the 4runner?

Digging this one up, thinking about trying to install the DT FJ cruiser y-pipe on my 4runner. As mentioned I think everything should line up except I'll need to shorten my catback to allow the longer y pipe length. Anyone else done this? On a V8? Any sales? $333 is cheapest I can find shipped currently.

Answering my own post. The guy talking about cutting 6" off the catback was talking about using a Tacoma URD ypipe on a 4runner.
The DT y pipe length is actually perfect for the 4runners and would bolt right up with one little caveat... on the 4wd 4runner models we have a big electronic actuator hanging off the back of the transfer case. Stealing a picture from an old 4th gen member djtc (who has moved onto 5th gen stuff now), you can see how he had to make an s shape to fit around gas tank and actuator while still staying tucked high. Long story short, the DT 89228 fj cruiser y pipe will fit a 2wd 4runner no problem, but not the 4wd. And I have a used FJ cruiser y pipe for sale now...
