Where did you get the ends for the control links? Great build, it's always fun to watch a 3rd gen go under so much custom fabrication!

They are all from Ballistic Fab...I was pretty impressed by all of the pieces. I had to run a tap through a couple of the inserts but no biggie. They were pretty quick with shipping too

Excellent, thanks! Planning on building some rear links and those ends looked just what I was looking for.
 
Awesome progress, love following this build! Do you happen to know the appropriate width for those joints for stock links?

I forgot my camera today, so no pictures till tomorrow, but we got a lot done today.

Draglink done
Frame notched to run flat pitman arm
Coilover tower notched for steering shaft
Inner fenders trimmed for coilover towers
Panhard mounts and bar done


The coilovers are a bit of a disappointment, collapsed length is 20.75"....I can collapse the front end down to a length of 18". So, I am missing out on a lot of compression. I may need to drop down to a 10" coilover at some point, but I will have to see how it does in the real world before I make a decision.

I know it'd be work and you have the mount already in but...could you raise your upper mounting point for the CO to utilize your compression instead of going to a shorter shock?

The towers are truly as high up as possible without having to remove or redo all the evap stuff...which I am not doing. As you can see I had to cut into the fender as they are...and redo a bunch of brake lines and fuel lines as a result.

It will be a play it by ear thing, the uptravel seem like it will be okay, it is really hard to judge up in the air like it is

Shoot, forgot that older trucks have the evap systems over the wheel well, what a PITA. Most of the evap stuff on my 02 is by the spare tire so there's not much needed to hack up my wheel well besides extending some fuse box wiring in addition to what you said about the brake and fuel lines.

What's left on the list before its rolling?

Yea it is a pain

The coilover tower on the passenger side needs to be clearanced for the trackbar mount, and need to finish notching the tower for the steering shaft

The coilovers need mocked up, and then assembled and charged.

The trackbar also needs to be bent a hair for proper geometry

By then it should be good to roll under its own weight...the axle will still need built though. And need to figure out the driveshaft and crossmember situation

lol yea we have been checking and double checking, they are adjustable on both ends, so you end up with quite a bit of adjustment.
 
Got the truck sitting on its own weight this evening. Ride height is not tuned, hopefully it will sit another inch lower. The tires are 28" tall, I think I will keep them, you know, for fuel mileage concerns
