Dous's Build Thread Version 2.0

Very nice sir. What's your frame height? With 12's up front on mine I could keep my 4.5" up travel and still keep it way low. I could drop it down another 3" if I wanted to. You shouldn't need to downsize to 10's… What spring lengths and rates did you end up with again?

Looking good! It's going to be hard keeping it low and have a bunch of up travel. I was ok with sacrificing some up travel to keep my stance low. I've got about 2.5" of up travel but the amount of droop and overall ride height more than makes up for it in my opinion.

I agree completely, I would be happy with 2.5" of uptravel. But right now it is more like 1.5", so I could raise it up another inch to gain a bit more uptravel....but gain more height of course.

Or drop down to a 10" C/O, lose down travel, but gain up-travel....quality over quantity I guess?

I am going to borrow a buddies 35 this weekend and do some measuring and take a look at what I need before I spend another 1200 bones!

Instead of spending more money on different c/o's, you could scrap the all pro towers and make your own out of tube and angle your coilovers back a bit. Or just re-do your lower coilover tabs so they mount right at the bottom of the axle. Hard to see how much room you have in the pics to do so, but that would prob fix your issue without having to go down to 10's. Just a thought.

Yea it is a good thought. These are actually the Barnes 4wd Towers. They could be angled back further I guess, but they are as high as possible without getting into the EVAP stuff.

I used the Ballistic radius arm mounts that have an incorporated C/O mount, which is where the issue lies. It mounts it 2" or so above the axle....but I am not sure it is possible to get it any lower, maybe 1/2" or so...but not really worth it

The frame height on these shit tires is like 22"...I tried the 12" upper but it wouldn't let me get the truck low enough...so I have the 10" 200# and the 14" 300#...

I'll give you 100 bucks if you keep those tires on it for the next year haha.

Deal, I am getting new tires on January 6th...I will PM you my Paypal addy

You're seriously keeping them on for a year?? Hahah well, I am a man of my word.

Yup there's your problem. I was just thinking about how I have mine setup. Hmmm you could also relocate your fuse box and rip out your cruise control module, it might give you room to cut into the fenders just to give you 3-4" more? You'd still have to modify those towers but it'll save you money. Then you could build a crossmember over the engine to your towers as well.

The passenger side is not the issue, it is the drivers side evap stuff...it takes up so much room, definitely not possible to go any higher...I wish though. Price isn't really a concern, I just don't know realistically how much travel I will be giving up with the 10" C/O's

I think he found a loophole...he's not gonna keep them on for A year, he's gonna keep them on for THE year :becky:

Nailed it

Looking at your lower coilover mounts you just don't have a lot of options to move them down much further. It's hard to tell in the pictures but is it possible to build a separate mount? Maybe welded off the outside of the radius arm mounts? It would obviously have to leave enough room for the coilovers to clear your tires and for the coilovers to clear the radius arm mounts at full droop. Just trying to think of options that would involve the least amount of work. Obviously you could redo your upper mounts but that's a lot of work and even more so now that your current upper mounts are fully welded in.

Yea I mean we have looked and looked, it just doesn't seem like there is anything we can do short of cutting off, and redoing brackets, which isn't happening. We shall see! I am going to do a lot of measuring this weekend and hopefully i can come to a conclusion!

Got the truck adjusted for 2.75" of up-travel....I need to do different rear springs to level it out, needs about 1.5 more in the rear.

Also test fitted my buddies 35's to check for clearance, looks awesome

I am getting a killer deal on FIVE 315/75/16 MT/R's
6000 miles on them
$800
