1996 ECU wiring??
So here is my situation.. I have a 2000 TR4 4x4 SR5. put a 1996 tr4 Limited 5vze. Used the ECU, and wiring harness from the 2000. It will not fire, and I am getting P0100, & P1300 (MAS & Ignition) My question is; are the wiring harnesses the same? I downloaded the 1996-2002 FSM but it clearly says 2002 on it. I have come up with a big goose egg trying to find the ECU pinout or FSM for the 1996... Any help would be appreciated from the many gurus on here..

Not even close. I can give you the ECU pin-out, but if you want the whole thing you'll need to go buy a two-day pass on TIS for $15 and download it.

There are lots of engine swap threads on here--I suggest you search and read a few.

Each year has its own FSM and wiring manual. The changes between years can be rather extensive due to many changes in features and designs.
You're in luck, I just bought the 1996 4runner electrical diagram because the online manual is 2002. What exactly do you need?
I was looking for the whole thing, really. I've got random and widespread little things to work on, so it's nice to have. Thanks.

I just need the 1999EC U ECM pi out. I tried purchaseing the pass , paid the money got no access, sent numerous emails with no response gave up. I have searched through and read thousand of swap threads. Thanks to anyone that can help. It's my kids first car and a project that we are working on together a
I have an active TIS account until tomorrow. I have been able to see all the 1998 4Runner repair manual and electrical wiring diagram info I was looking for. I haven't grabbed odbii or atm info because I don't think it's likely I'll rebuild my own transmission in that level of detail.
Before my access expires, is there anything anyone needs looked up? And no, I won't download an entire year's manual for you Just offering to spend a few minutes grabbing specific info/topic that might be needed.

The boys at Toyota legal came down on everybody they found distributing the manuals and made them take them down a while ago. Copyright crap. You can find them occasionally, but the links don't seem to stay active long.
