So for the front I'm gonna do 5" up and 7" down. The rear I'm guessing will be 6up/8down or 5up/9down. It's gonna be flexy.

Going to re-use my rear bumpstops for now til I grab some air bumps down the road... damn things are expensive. I'll do the same for the front, just need to find some rubber.

I think I'll grab a Marlin VSS ($50) to fix the speedometer.

Vehicle Speed Sensor, MCI | Marlin Crawler, Inc.

Still researching but I'll need to grab a harness and tap into an ecu in the cluster. 4runner's speedo runs off ABS, tacomas run off VSS... so I'll have to figure out how to make it work.

I have that Marlin VSS and was under the impression that it'd work with the 4Runner. Loss of the ABS sensors should only result in an ABS light and the system being disabled, but as far as I know the speedometer gets it's signal from the transfer case sensor...

40/60 setup huh??? That should work great for where your gonna be wheeling. Out here guys do a 30/70 to 20/80 set up but it is all about droop with rock crawling.

Your welcome. I have been reading up on stuff for quite a while (5+) years. Helped built a few rigs. Watched what works and what doesn't. I have spent so much time on pirate and a few other places that I can't get on them without having to hide my saw all and grinder lol

Hell no, that first cut was absolute bliss!! lol With everything outta the way, I can easily access the engine now. I can change my starter muchhhh easier too haha.

That's what I thought too, but I read otherwise. Let me know if your speedo works. I know slowpoke's doesn't. I just got home so I'm gonna look at some writeups right now, also the one Ben posted of Mossy's truck.

More progress today and a minor setback.

Got the rear axle and rear driveshaft out and everything cut off and the rear frame grinded. I will be plating the rear frame. Cleaned up the front frame a bit more and I cleaned a lot of the underbody.

Problem: The whole oil pan setup I bought does not work at all. I used part numbers from Supra TT's write up on TW and I'm now guessing his truck is a 3rz? Because the part numbers he listed do not work one bit for me. So I'm tracking down correct part numbers now and getting this oil pan etc ASAP.

I was trying to save money and bought the T100 setup... but it didn't work for me. So I just ordered the TG Oil Pan kit. $100 more ugh. Thank's slowpoke! I'll have it on by the end of the week.

This is with 37's to get an idea (the front may come up an inch to allow for full stuff, and the rear will level the front, maybe 1" of rake to allow for full stuff):

So my buddy is keeping his steering shaft. I'll either be making my own or modifying one I buy - It'll be better though. I'll post up and let you know what I used and how I did it next week.

Remember, you have to bang those sliders up before summer is over or they go to [MENTION=56529]Jon[/MENTION]. I know he got some sliders built already, but if you don't hold up your end of the deal, he gets your sliders so that he has sliders for his sliders... to slide on stuff.

So yeah, make sure this thing is finished before the snow falls.

It'll be finished in like 2-3 weeks tops. We are cruising through this build. It's only been two days since we started and tomorrow we're hanging axles and mocking up links.

Thanks Sam - it wasn't really a setback since it's not hindering progress on the build. Luckily TG is in Cali and shipping only takes a day.

We might notch the rear frame for the coilovers. Not sure yet. I really don't want to go through the floor because I'll be sacrificing my sleeping area when I camp LOL. There are a couple options, I'll take a look at it tomorrow... just more things on my mind. It's gonna be sweet!! Finally I'll have some down travel!

it's all about sacrifice! just do it man. go through the floor and get it done. then tell the wife you need to build yourself badass trailer like dirtco's!!! you know you want to.

Issue #1 I ran into (after taking the stock pan off) was the new oil screen not fitting whatsoever, the first mounting point that requires the gasket... well, it's completely different. You can't even bolt it in because the mounting holes are too wide, it doesn't match up. Even if it did, the plumbing shoots off to the drivers side rather than towards the actual oil pan itself LOL It's a completely different setup. So I figured, shit, I'll have to get a new screen and gasket. Well, thankfully I decided to try and see if the new pan fits.... nope. The holes would line up fine if the pan itself wasn't a good 2" longer than my stock pan. Completely unusable, so I'll have to send it back. So lame.
