Definitely, I know [MENTION=56529]Jon[/MENTION] wanted to set something up too. I need to do a few things to the truck before I hit Rubicon though. August, Sept? I'm just worried about the crowds that time of year.

You bring your Seattle crew, and we'll bring our Norcal crew, and Addison can bring his Canada crew, and Nick can bring his New Mexico crew.... all that's missing is the Colorado crew haha

What PSI was the 4th gen at when the bead popped? Not much more satisfying than a hard day of wheelin

At that time, I was at 8psi. Down hill grade w/ left hand pitch on some baseball/bowling ball size rocks, pulled the tires play to the right and there buddie the bolder gave a little more of a push on the side, POOFFFF.
Ride it out to semi level area.


Kinda piss Jon off seeing me just put air back into the tire while the rim was still mounted on the ride. (After jacking the ride up).

Are 35"s pretty much necessary for the Rubicon? I know Nick is on 33s, and i would be also. Ive read about that trail my entire life, its been on my "must run" list of trails since i started rock crawling.

I think everyone was, I was looking for matches as I have played with that stuff before. Didn't want to get close with the lighter.

I guess you are giving me advance warning on a RUBI RUN, and to get some sliders in time. I know, you all just want to see the SOCCER MOM size lifted

Mien posted on his RUBI RUN TRIP the week before our run with a video. He stated that they modifying parts of the run to acomidate 33" tires.

This run I did with ROB and the gang, I'm on want to bees' 32". 3/3" lift.
Concidering doing the RUBI after sliders.

I've never been, but as Leonard said, they have done some accommodating on the trail. I'm guessing you guys will be just fine with 33's and armor.

Very true, always fun to do that! Is the Rubicon open year round? Seems like i remember certain times of the year being less desireable because of how high the stream can get near the beginning of the trail.

I believe it opens in May-ish..? through October.

I guess I could be the biggest bragger with my wanna be 32".

I just ran into a guy that was complimenting on my t4r, He wondered if I took it thru the RUBI, as he looked at my running boards. He said that's why I took mine off. Said he takes his LC/ FJ through there all the time, I asked if it was modded, he replied no, nothing like yours.

EDIT: Not sure how much to believe him as I hear war stories about this run. And him driving a stock TACO, and stating not with this, it's just 4x2.

I'll definitely watch any planning threads that start up. I'm just not sure my LX will be trail-ready by the time you guys want to head down there, and time off from work is a whole nother' story. The CT4WD crew is planning something for Sept. but their runs are not open book, you need to be a part of the Association to tag along....

I'm only speaking from "forum trolling experience" here but if you search the Rubicon on the Wayalife, or JK forums they have a ton of before-and-after photos of the trail. Apparently most of the super difficult and legandary obstacles have been demolished or crushed. I know the Sluice Box is drastically different but even the other "hard" obstacles for your everyday truck, like that one giant rock that puts you super off-camber between a tree, is destroyed. I'm sure @J-Money can comment here as he seems to run it more frequently than any one else around here.

A few trucks from CT4WD ran the Rubicon in 2010 or 2011. 06' Tacoma (with OME 3" lift, sliders, E-locker, All-Pro skids, 285 MTZ's), 08' FJ Trail Teams (ARB bumper, OME 3" lift, winch, sliders, 285 BFG A/T's), and a SAS'ed 03' Taco on 37's. Apparently the FJ and the Tacoma made it through unscathed, it just took a lot of time and good spotting. I expect it to be substantially easier of a trail at this point in time. Those same trucks ran Dusy Ershim this year as well and didn't fair so well.... body damage on all of them.... but that's another story.
