Ha! We actually discussed that but we're gonna try the original plan and make it work lol Fingers crossed.

I would just C channel the frame inward an inch or so to give yourself plenty of room for the coils. but thats just me. :yo:

Exactly what I am talking about lol it is almost a must for running COs on these in the rear not only just to clear but to also clear on full stuff/droop

Yeah we might have to. It's 59" wms. I just ran home for a minute. Exhaust is out. We're making a new bracket for the front upper link that will fit right above the tcase crossmember. Instead of cutting out the whole crossmember, we're going to cut part of it and weld in some square tubing that will go over the front driveshaft.

Might have some time today to start making the coilover towers, but those will start going in Monday. We shall see if we'll have to notch the frame or not.

Isn't a toy axle on 4R like 60.5 or something like that???? Well at least your using 2.0 COs that shoul be a little easier but still gonna be a tight fit. I am worried about fitting a 2.5 on a 66" wide and out boarding it the same way.

It's 60" wms IIRC. We're going to mount them outside the frame as planned. If I have problems, I'm going to grab some wheel spacers to solve the issue. Hopefully when I grab some 37's or trade my 35's, I can swap wheels to some with 2.5 bs.

So we got the upper links figured out. The front upper is in. We already built the rear link, we just need to alter the bracket a little bit for the rear. It will get welded in first thing monday. Shock towers will get made and go in monday as well. Then we need to tackle the panhards and the steering shaft, run extended brakelines and the ARB compressor and the air lines. Get the driveshafts in and I shoullllld be rolling. There are always a few things I'm forgetting.

Here's how we worked out the front upper link without having to touch the tcase crossmember:

All the links are in, turned out awesome. Ran into a hiccup of course- polyperformance sent me 1 wrong bung and 1 wrong high misalignment spacer. I need (1) RH bung to complete one of the heims, and I also need (1) complete RH heim (high misalignment spacers, bung, jam nut). Soooo I gotta get on that tonight and track these parts down.

Otherwise, I think we finally found a place for the front panhard... VERY TIGHT FIT. I dropped my drivelines off at High Angle and will have them Thursday. This stuff postponed the coilover towers to tomorrow.

Thanks guys! Just took apart the steering shaft and ripped all that crap out. Bought a telescoping shaft and got the u-joint that connects the steering box. Just ran home right now to order the other u-joint that connects the column. It is a Borgeson 9/16x36 spline 1" DD part number 015212 for anyone interested.

Making panhards today and custom pan hard mounts front and rear... they are coming out pretty sweet. I'll have pics at the end of the day.

We're trying man lol making the push! We're on the home stretch once these panhards go in. Then it's onto coilovers and brakelines and hooking up steering.

Haha exactly - it's one thing to drop your truck off somewhere and have someone build it for you... not a fan of that at all. It's even better when you can cut costs by being involved in the build yourself - and while you're still paying for labor at a discounted rate, you're able to soak up a lot of knowledge and see how everything comes together and why this goes here, or why things have to be done this way and that way, why you can't do "this" without doing "this" first.. I wouldn't even consider doing SAS if I wasn't able to be involved every step of the way.

It's also very cool to see the creativity on some parts of this build. Since I didn't buy a "kit" and follow any instructions, it's basically long brainstorming sessions when we run into issues. Even an idea of "well, move this and put this here and fab something to drop down here.. etc." It's motivating to see the final product especially when it actually WORKS lol

I was thinking about your truck the other day... "Hmmm he should be driving it by now..."

Salmon season is an exception though, understandable.
