i'm geting there man! i seriously haven't touched my rig in over 3 weeks!!! it's pretty much done except for wiring up my lights, winch, cb, etc. i'm organizing all of my pics to put a timeline thread together. i'll be building my sliders and rear tire carrier this weekend. i was suppose to have it done before archery season. technically it is but i wanted to get my sliders/carrier on before i head for the mountains then do my duals after the season. but things changed and i ended up ordering these...

crawlbox from inchworm arrived last week and the twin sticks from front range just came today so i guess i still have quite a bit of work to do.

Callen just saved my ass today. Wired up the VSS, was super easy. He cut and fabbed and welded my crossmember and we got the front driveshaft in. He gusseted my front panhard mount and hooked up my exhaust.

Headed to Rubicon for the Marlin Round Up in 45 minutes!!

I'll be back Sunday with a ridiculous amount of pictures!!

Outta the shop and straight to the Rubicon

I'm excited man... First time to the Rubicon will be for this event. Thankfully I have a set of spare axles too I borrowed. I'm probably the most unprepared person going, but whatever.. gonna be a blast!

Hell yeah, it's been on my list for a long time! The 4Runner looks great, hope you have a great trip; let us know how it goes, and take a bunch of pictures!

Just got back about an hour ago. That was one of the best trips ever.

My friend Jeff texted me around 530pm thursday asking if the truck was done. "Yup, you want to go to Rubicon tonight?" So he went and grabbed a sleeping bag and a tent and I picked him up and we headed to meet my friend Scott in Oroville to convoy with that night.

We headed out around 9:30pm and got to a Food Max where Scott randomly blew his welded rear in the parking lot LOL. He said "F*** it" and we made our way to Tahoe City and found the trail head at around 2:00am and ended up finally reaching camp at 6:00am.

I'd like you to be happy to know that the first use of these sliders was on the Rubicon, going down Cadillac Hill between 3:30am and 5:30am

Almost to the bottom of Cadillac that night/early morning, I blew a bead and took out the passenger rear tail light. This was my only "carnage" of the whole trip. Wheels straight, came down off a rock and POP. I was at 4psi for those interested.

Re-seated the tire with Scott's co2 tank real quick:

Went and dinked around on Friday to Hell Hole, Rubicon Springs, and some spots in between.

Looks like a blast. I've gone wheeling in the middle of the night in the past but I've always left the lady at home. Now that I'm married I think she would kick my ass for getting to camp at 6AM. Nevertheless, I am jealous. The truck looks like it turned out awesome.

I'm just waiting on all the action shot pics from the girls. They like to walk up Caddy and take tons of pics. I'll post em when they send them. They have some great shots.

Truck did amazing. I babied it and *****footed it. Linked, 5.13's, open/open on 35's with an automatic.. I walked up it. Couple trouble spots and some real sketchy steep drop offs. Definitely would be a huge challenge and broken parts for an IFS rig. I did see one 2nd gen IFS 4runner on 255's. Not sure how he did though.

It's so smooth on the highway too. Got the springs broken in and all I hear now is the hiss from the coilovers.

Thank you! I'll be breaking axles left and right with the front locked. Gonna need some chromos before I start using the front locker.




I would also like to add, instead of my past 200 miles to a tank of gas, I'm now back up to 270+... I'm guessing. Drove back from truckee last night after filling up and after 150 miles, I still had over half a tank. 5.13's on this truck on 35's is awesome.
