I would also like to add, instead of my past 200 miles to a tank of gas, I'm now back up to 270+... I'm guessing. Drove back from truckee last night after filling up and after 150 miles, I still had over half a tank. 5.13's on this truck on 35's is awesome.

:laugh: Now how many miles till the SAS pays for itself?? That's pretty crazy for that much of a change. I just hit my own latest record of 17mpg doing some highway mountain driving this last weekend on the way to the trails

This is because you have the ability to unlock the hubs and remove the extra rotational mass from the drivetrain. My fabricator brought up the same thing to me. With the IFS, your passenger side wheel will disconnect, but your driver's wheel still turns the axle, diff, driveshaft and output in the case all the way up to the 2-4 shift fork.

I'm just waiting on all the action shot pics from the girls. They like to walk up Caddy and take tons of pics. I'll post em when they send them. They have some great shots.

Truck did amazing. I babied it and *****footed it. Linked, 5.13's, open/open on 35's with an automatic.. I walked up it. Couple trouble spots and some real sketchy steep drop offs. Definitely would be a huge challenge and broken parts for an IFS rig. I did see one 2nd gen IFS 4runner on 255's. Not sure how he did though.

It's so smooth on the highway too. Got the springs broken in and all I hear now is the hiss from the coilovers.

So, would you suggest I don't try to run the " RUBI ". Mien said they took care of some of the spots on the trail and I should be able to get through, just take your time and have Rob spotting. As you know I'm not SCARED to play with the BIG BOYS. I'd hate to get to certain spots that when looking at them, I better not, and have to turn around.

Mmmmm... well you have the armor below. If you don't care about the body of your truck then you don't need to worry about that. You'd definitely run into some sketchy spots with your truck. I'm not saying it's not do-able... but I don't know man.. You'll be using all your skids, but that's what their for! lol. I'd want my rear locked if I were you too. It would probably take you most of the day in one section. I think Kong and his friends did it in 3+ days. I honestly don't know how his buddy with the 1st gen IFS runner made it through with no breakage. I did see one 1st gen IFS pickup go through but he was hammering down - and I'm just talking about Cadillac, I didn't come in or out through Loon.

If you ran into spots you were a bit too sketched out to try and crawl, you won't be turning around. There are only 2-3 spots on cadillac to turn around and if you get to one of the turn-arounds, you might as well just run the whole thing.

Put it this way - I wouldn't want to run it with my old setup even with 5.29's. No articulation, not enough flex. I'd be breaking crap left and right. IFS could do it geared and locked with clearance... but not my old setup.

You could run part of the trail! This will give you an idea of how it is coming in from Loon:

Trout? Maybe :shrug: We didn't see any fish, and we also ran into some guys with fishing poles. They said there weren't any fish and they were catching crawdads so a couple guys in our group joined in and ended up with a milk jug full of em.

Lot of that I would be high centered on them skids and winching myself out. Better to just catch a ride with you and enjoy the cruise. Back brace in hand.

Yessir! Definitely high-centered on a couple spots. [MENTION=56529]Jon[/MENTION] could make it, he'd just be a bit tippy in spots. I have a bad fear of heights though anyway, so that's part of the reason I think it's sketchy.

I can't believe the time and money gone into this thing for it's beastly transformation. Quite the inspiration considering the mileage on it. True dedication. Makes me feel more at ease with waiting to do my swap when and if it comes to that. I hope to see you keep this rig as long as possible. It turned out pretty badass man.

Even with Taco IFS manual locking hubs the drivetrain loss you're recouping isn't significant. An acquaintance locally did the swap and didn't notice any measurable difference.

Perfect. Any plans to armor your butt? That thing is a beast. I love how you did everything. I feel like it wasn't long ago that you had that thing near factory. That piece of land looks like endless fun as well!

BTW, how do you like the 5.13's?
