DOWNPOUR11's Build Thread

Heh, I've been having thoughts of buying another 4runner as a SAS candidate... Just waiting for the right one to come along :)

So much win...SOOOOOO much win!

What did you do for a sway bar? Will you be using one?

Haha thanks Bryan! Nope, no sway bars. Don't need one right now and they're way too much money. If I soften everything up and I feel it needs a sway bar, I'll have a friend help me make one because there is no way I'm spending $400+ on an anti-rock sway.

I dont know what the availability is, or install complications, or any of the technical details, but I really think it would be sweet to install/retro one of the electronic sway bar disconnects. I think Rubicons and power wagons have them? Not sure on other models

I honestly haven't looked any further into it after I saw the price of a Currie AntiRock sway and other competitors at roughly the same cost. There are no quick disconnects though since they're made to work offroad too. It's more of the chromo steel and the heims that = $$$. Right now I don't need any though.

Electronic sway bar disconnects? Sounds complicated and sketchy lol

Yeah electronic ones are all factory options that I think engage some kind of a slip collar on splines on the sway bar to lock it back together, or when disengaged, actually allows the sway bar to become two separate pieces (if i understood it correctly, i only briefly looked into it). I just liked the convenient sound of a switch, rather than my traditional method of getting out the wrenches

you think she's stiff enough without one? What springs are you running up front? Still havent driven mine so I'm wondering how it's gonna feel around turns...
