Looks amazing! What are you doing about the rear body mounts? Also, got any pictures of the upper shock mounts?

Ill get pics of the shock mounts inside, hoops still arent bent yet - i was out of town this weekend so i wasnt able to make it over there. Just gonna be hoops with a crossbar though, nothing crazy.

Welp, ordered some doug thorley shorties. Space is too tight for the old headers. Never thought id be polishing a 445k mile engine but at least i can unbolt them and put them on the next.

Awesome build, absolutely beautiful also. I was planning to do something along this lines & [MENTION=103068]NotKewl[/MENTION] build before my injury. I didn't see what changed the reason for shocks, might have missed it but I've seen a few more people start to use the Radflo shocks versus other options. What was the reason/direction for this if I can ask. Also your machining is beautiful on the links, envious & jealous.

Not sure what you mean? Are you asking why I went to Radflo?
I originally had Profender 14's on the rear and 12's for the front. A couple years ago I broke a rear upper frame-side johnny joint and it snapped both my rear coilovers. Profenders are a bit funky with tuning etc (different shim size/bore) but regardless, I wanted something better. So, I called Brian at 4WU and bought two 14" Radflos from him. I just told him how the truck was built so he just threw a couple shim stacks together on paper. For a random tune off a couple pieces of info they felt good out of the box. They are very predictable - super smooth ride, nice rebound and dampening. A very good start for tuning over the phone. Unless you take your truck to Wayne or whoever is tuning for King now, it usually takes a few tries, but there are so many different factors so just go get corner weights and take it to someone who knows what they're doing.
-Matt- on Pirate is a good friend of mine, he's pulled his Profenders probably 10x times for tuning. His truck rides excellent now, like you're in a Lay-Z-Boy. BUT, he tuned mine the same way with a flutter stack, using the same exact shims - except he also had to tig weld a couple holes on the valve inside...I ordered the same exact Walker Evans shims he had, but you have to drill them out to work with Profender's shaft size which is different than all the other companies. So, in the end, pain in the ass. I would recommend Profender over FOA any day, but Radflo's are a better built shock, larger shaft (7/8"), and easier tunability. The ONLY gripe I have with Radflo are their stupid f***ing misalignment spacers...have fun!!
On the new build, i didn't want to run 12's up front so I hit up Brian again and chatted a little more in depth (he had a 3rd gen he was debating on building, so he is familiar aside from the fact he is a Toyota guy anyway). So the two new 14's I bought for the front are tuned to my truck based on weight of axle I am using, tires/wheels, winch, transfer cases, engine, truck, etc. Of course it will be tuned again, but he gets pretty close and I don't think I'll have an issue besides needing a sway bar lol. Radflo makes a great shock, and I was pretty over the Profenders. Maybe they are better made now, but they rode like a dumptruck out of the box (FOUR of the thickest shims stacked on the bottom of the stack), and they were not charged either.
Anyway, nicer coilovers are very similar. It's all about tuning in the end. ADS, King, Radflo, and Fox (recently changed design, much nicer now)...might be missing one. Swayaway is good except I haven't ever seen one not leaking. FOA is trash...they blow seals like crazy and the spring cup has no groove whatsoever so your springs slip off the bottom retainer every time you flex out on something, which also will make your springs bow.
I wish I could say I built this one, but I can't fabricate for shit and I cannot do math to save my life. My good friend is building it (he built the old Ultra4 car). The front end is a roller right now, nothin really interesting otherwise though. It is now coming along, probably just jinxed myself.

In other news. Needed a daily driver. Got a hair up my ass a couple weeks ago, took a loan, and picked up this gorgeous e46 M3.... I am in love with it. This car is amazing.
Been wanting one for 20 years. I thought they were still $40k.
Completely random find a couple hours away from me. Felt bad because the guy did not want to sell it. He had just bought it in June, but had something come up. Super cool guy, told him I'd help him find another when he is ready.

Everything was installed by Turner Motorsports and Rogue Engineering.
Previous owner is the ad guy for Rides Magazine, friend of Brian Scotto who co-owns Hoonigan who was pretty familiar with this car when it was built. Lol my buddy hit him up on Instagram and he responds "is that xxxxx's old car?!?!" Since it disappeared for a good 8years until now.

Haha nice I was hoping someone from here would be on the M3 forums.
Randomly found it on craigslist, my last resort. Guy was forced to sell it, he tried to swing it but couldn't. That's why it was never listed on the forums or autotrader etc.
First question i asked (text) "Is there a link to a build thread on a forum somewhere?" "Yep, method769 on e46fanatics."
Anyway, long story short - went to get it, guy doesn't show up, then calls and says "car won't start." That's it. So of course, screw you I'm out. I think about it, hit him up, he was telling the truth and sends me a pic of it on a flatbed. Just a case of poor communication on his part. He swaps a relay, gets it running, I go back down to get it a few days later. Turns out to be an awesome guy who i'll keep in touch with. I told him, "you drive it one last time to the bank and back"...then after that I say goodbye and then the car doesn't start. Hahaha. He freaked out, I could care less. Eventually got it started then got it replaced the next day. Total fluke both days he tried to sell it.
To be honest, when I saw the pic of it on a flatbed I was then instantly determined to buy it haha

Pretty much answered exactly what I was asking, thank you. I've spent a lot of time reading the last few days and some of the builds blow my mind in the design of the suspension. I keep falling back to just going with Icon. I can't justify the FOX/KINGS/ETC's cause I don't feel I'll ever use its full potential. Just want a Cadillac ride is all. My current even adjust coils and such is to rough for me to keep going. Last Saturday was a wake up call again as by the end of our 8 hour run I couldn't move..sigh. But after 5 days i'm back up to about 40% of my normal 100% which is actually 50% of normal..but besides that. Thank you for taking the time to educate me on what you did

Ah man that sucks! Sorry to hear! Yeah i mean if you are still IFS I would put some 3" Icon's on it or some ADS (which are also adjustable with that knob) if you want a cushy ride.
