This week I'm working on adding ventilation to my skidplates to help with high tranny temps.

I've also been building a skid plate. The front is done and installed. I am working on the skid that goes from the steering rack to the back. I am curious about your transmission temps. I am also going from frame rail to frame rail but I am a little worried about temps. How high was your transmission temp? I am assuming you have an automatic tranny? When did you have the problems? Low range crawling or highway speeds?

I had higher temps in every condition. With out skids I never got over 160* on 75* day. With skids 210* @75 mph in overdrive 180* with OD off, 50* day! :-( 240* OD off climbing the 330 to big bear with 5 people a loaded cooler a small camp stove, sleds, 100lbs of tools, tire chains, loaded down! temps in the low 40's. I just added a total of 29 holes 1 3/4" to help with temps. I also have a TRD tranny cooler. I also wrapped the exaughst above the skid with header heat wrap. I will be putting the belly skid back on tomorrow!

Wow, HUGE props on all of the custom work, the fabbing, trailblazing on new things, etc. Really awesome. I need to get a welder!
